  • lol theres no one in the stands

  • Yuki is a shit, he hasnt demonstrated nothing already... so stop saying that he is the next number 1. Even Murray hasnt reach number 1 and he has been in the circuit for 5 years

  • Jack Sock is an out- and-out better player than Yuki. It's difficult to negotiate or argue on that axis....

  • His peers & juniors in circuit have already surpassed him. He has several shortcomings, as people have described here, more importantly, it's nothing wrong to accept that that's him. At this age, learning new techniques or changing techniques are out of question.

If he prepares to be a doubles players only, he may have a shot. he is NOT in the circuit of Top Indians, who are playing now, like Boppana, Somdev etc. He may be richer than them.

But he should be praised for who he is.

  • It's nice to read a lot of comments. Being a person of Indian origin, surely Yuki has come a long distance and his parents, family, friends and fellow indians should be proud of him. As a tennis connoisseur, and as a tennis-active parent in the US I would say: He is far off for being a pro in the circuit. He can declare himself as a pro, but that will be a foolish thing to do.

He probably spends a fortune (he has it fortunately) w Bolletary academy & he continues to do so.

  • i'm deaf!!!

  • jack shoe is much better

  • does nobody else think its absolutely hilarious that his name is Jack Sock??

  • @geto235

    we got andy roddick

  • @geto235 its hilarious!

  • People say he is India's hope but in reality, he isn't a product of India. What I mean by that is Americans trained him so he is really representing American India. I want to see countries developing their own stars like China with their swing for the stars program. Li Na would be a great example. Also Hyung Taik Lee from South Korea is another great example. He reached a career high of 36 and was a Korean tennis player developed in South Korea. Lee beat people like Murray, soderling and ferro.

  • So whats the deal with no crowd?

  • but he doesnt have djokovic's drop shot 2:01 .

  • Yuki has a backhand like Djokovic's, forehand like Roddick's. Looks like a pretty deadly combination to me.

  • Cant really see clearly. But Jack Sock is really good. Saw him play at ES before. I dont go there...but i live close. I go to OPRC.(:

  • 4:09 epic

  • I practice at Elite Squad in Overland Park Kansas where Jack Sock practices.

  • bhambri will do nothing in the pros -_-

  • jack sock goes to my school :D

  • Tennis is becoming so unbelievably boring with these prototypical, unvaried dull clones.

  • yeah, that's my boy jack takin' care of his business.

  • Amazing, Yuki whose real age is 22 still plays junior tennis...

  • @D180562 is that allowed?

  • @D180562 22? which world are u in?? He is 18

  • where was yuki this year?

    jack won the whole tournamnet

  • @tennisproderek

Battling with injuries for the most part.

  • Jack sock goes to my school!

  • blahhh non pros are so boring to watch

  • @tennisproderek On Cam they are, in real life its cool.

  • @tennisproderek luckily we are being saved by players like Dolgopolov,Raonic,Tomic,Gulbis and Nishikori

  • *Sigh

the level of jrs. and pros are so distant

these guys have unforced errors after like every 2 ball rally....

    *sigh

  • its good to be djokovic clone....Novak is 3rd on atp...thats a big thing!!

  • Bhambri's technique is disgusting

    he'll never be a pro

  • @mbblt

Lol, you judge whether or not someone has the capacity to be pro based on the aesthetics of their technique.

  • @bournefury firstly, i play tennis to a high junior level so i know my stuff

secondly, ill be fair now- he is obviously a good player- he wouldnt be top junior if he wasnt, i just dont think his technique (which is integral to staying injury free and effortless power) is robust enough to take him to the top of the mens game

my initial comment was abit extreme- i just wanted to make my general point

  • @mbblt I see, your first comment made it seem like you were criticizing the aesthetics of his techniques rather than the technique itself. I wasn't trying to offend you although it certainly may have come off that way.

  • @bournefury dw i didnt take offence- its just you have to make a short sharp rude comment on youtube if you want to get your point across! lol

  • was that running backhand down the line in!!!???

  • I love how that ball kid throws the ball at 4:17

  • he is good!

  • He needs some muscle if he wants to be able to compete with the pro's. look how thin he is

  • i agree...bhambri reminds me of djokovic...which is sort of an anti-climax lol

  • Djokovic clones.........zzzz zzzz

  • Well, finally got to see Yuki play. He has been consistently the top ranked junior player since 2 years.... he is the hope of India.

In India, ppl watch so much tennis, but finally they are getting a star player as well (ofcourse we have had very good players like Ramesh Krishnan and Vijay amritraj, but no top-10 player).

My fav current player is Djokovic, and he so much plays like him. The style of hitting is similar, body movement, position is all too similar. Wow, my second Djokovic! :)

  • @grkhetan Yuki is very good, but junior ITF rankings are hard to go by. ur ramking is determined by ur doubles pts + ur singles pts. Also, some juniors play pros right away instead of juniors, or on't play that many juniors, or r just coming up...etc. The juniors r a different game. Look at donald young, he hasn;t done much. But i do think that yuki has very good potential. GL to him.

  • @grkhetan top ranked junior player since 2 years....learn some english dude

  • @grkhetan who cares about junior ranking. Being top ten in junior ranking is a good feat but for pros that means nothing. I want to see Yuki play in mens us open. Jack already have and won mixed doubles this year

  • @grkhetan

Leander Paes won multiple juniors slams and was #1 ranked junior and he had a great doubles career but not singles.

  • 30 love point of 3rd game was insane

  • I just gotta say Yuki has one awkward serving wind up. Hell I don't see how anyone can serve with a wind up like that. His forehand is beastly though and his backhand needs a bit more work, but I guess he's got consistency among the juniors.

  • reminds me djokovic

  • @Najo161 like... especially that attempted drop shot, right? haha!

  • I just saw him play a Futures tournament in Texas. He beat 2 seeded players, one with a world ranking of 472, before falling to the guy who plays #1 at UT. Jack's definitely got game that you can't see from this clip. He's got incredible volleys but seems uncertain on approach. He also gets down on himself too much. He's just young and flappable and needs a good coach. I look forward to following his career at UT and/or pros.

  • they make alot of errors for players who are in t he juniour us open...

  • yuki's backhand looks strange. Normally on the two-hander you see them push through the ball, where as it looks like he's doing 100% brushing on the ball, and has the windshield wiper movement.

  • jack sock is americas future

  • Do you know Jack? I go to school with him and I'll tell you...he just isn't.

  • I can't see it neither!!! Well if this is america's future, then bye golly your tennis is down the pan

  • he lost bcoz they played indoors, tough luck

  • Seems as if Yuki is using a oversize racket or at least 102-105" frame ; he should switch to a smaller headsize if he needs to be more effective at the nets; for dictating the game from baseline is difficult at this level.

  • finally a video of the world's junior number 1

He's got a solid game...does remind of Djolovic..he's flexible..doesnt make many mistakes..at 17 i think he's great..Fed was 20 when he started making inroads into the men's circuit..so let him have all the time he wants.

  • Hard to tell with so little play but more than Djokkovic he reminds me to the young Ferrero.

  • i lyk dis

  • He's got a good deep second serve.

Also athletic and flexable...a new Djoko

  • thanks for the upload...was looking for something like this, wanted to see how yuki plays

  • thanks for the upload..lookin for something like this
