That first picture is Enrico Caruso in one of his very last performances, dressed a a Jew in an opera which I think was *La Juive* or something like that...the name of the opera isn't at the top of my head, it's in a DVD called The Three Legendary Tenors.
You are absolute right. Taken late December 1920. I believe the last picture of Caruso ever performing at the MET. - And the opera is correct too: La Juive.

I found all of these pictures on the web - the first one was Caruso's very last stage performance - around 1918-1920 I think.
