Ok, Khosrowp99, this is not really the place for politics and I don't think the film is arguing to be on any side's defence. It's just a portrayal of what happened, not trying to make a case of whether the soldiers should be forgiven for their actions or in helping those Christian dudes.
Plus, most of them didn't even want to be in the war and thought it was insane, according to the film.

The Zionism that savagely massacred Lebanese in 2006 makes film to boost the image of its army as invincible - desperately needed after its 2006 defeat! And Sharon? Had long been discredited! The common soldiers who 'consciously' attack, torture and murder the Palestinian children and their families, claim to be 'naive' about violence? Are you not the same generation that ruthlessly demolish Palestinian homes and murder their kids like cats and dogs? Now shed tears over your crimes in Lebanon?!

For over 60 years you've been murdering, torturing & imprisoning the Palestinians, and hiding behind the images of the Victims of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism; yet no film about Palestine! You, the newly arrived colonisers armed not with a Bible but with Persecution Complex and British/American Bombers/loobies! You need more therapy to realise the depth of your crimes and psyche. And a handful of victims shown in your film cannot represent 1000s of Palestinians murdered in 1982 in the camps!
much more arabs are killed by arabs then by israelis, look what is going on in iraq, but who cares...blaming israel for every thing that is wrong in this world is much easier
you don't even deserve a response. I have a lot to say to you. If you are ready to open your eyes I'll be more than happy to answer you, but if you'll continue talking like this than it's surely just a waste of time.

Israelis' brutal occupation & invasions have immensely increased anti-Semitism. The film attempts to create an elevated image of modern Israelis, as a sensible anti-war generation, because the world no longer buys their outdated propaganda of anti- Semitism to remain silent. Folman's double standards/sanctimonious stance in his film & present interviews over the 1982 massacre visavis his silence over the murder of the Palestinians families inside Palestine, remind me of Arthur Miller's in 2003!
Israel made a movie that puts her in a bad light most of the time, exposing the realities of war, for good and bad, mostly bad... tell me, when will an arab country EVER release a movie about their wrong doings? i am proud that my country released such a movie, its a great step for a nation to recognize and admit something they do wrong... such as wars and what happens during these times... arab nations did wrong many many times, will they ever make a movie that show it? no...
for one it wasn't the nation that made the film, it was a man that had an opinion of his nation, and last time i checked he had to fight quite a few people and got quite a few death threats from both countries.
this movie had no opinion or care about either side of the coin. bottom line, the war fucked him up, war is fucked up.
im from the us and my dad rented it, it was very good
