  • Crap now i have to find Chucles123thefish's comment :/

  • Thats fucking awesome.

  • When the volcanologists start running, you know it's time to get out of there.

  • Try again now, guys... ))))

  • NOW LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE..YOU MADE IT MAD!!

  • Do we know what time of year this happened? If the temperature was hovering near zero Fahrenheit (-17 to -19 degrees C) I'm assuming it was midwinter (Dec-Feb or March) but would welcome confirmation.

  • He 'runs for it' at 8:02.

  • HAHA i love the sighn nonono, casually walks past

  • Its step right step are you trying to piss off the volcano!

  • Awesome

  • cool !!!

  • That's incredible!

  • if ur not on television regularly you should have your own channel!

  • How are they NOT scared as hell?!

  • Alright i might sound skeptic, but i'm just wondering. What on earth can they gather data by sitting around looking at a volcano outbursting? How can this save human lives in the future? Aren't they supposed to take samples or going down the volcanos or something.

  • @MrFaabs92 They monitor the activity of volcanoes; how much lava they spew.

  • I want your job.

  • Earth's orgasm

  • 1 volcano dislikes this

  • Thankyou for posting this fascinating footage! Don't stop!

  • Comment removed

  • The point of the video happens around 5:27 JUST IN CASE ANYONE WAS WONDERING!!!

  • Hi Geoff,

As a Civil defece member and volcanic researcher I would like to say thank for for hte footage that you do post up. @chuckles, mate if wasn't for people like geoff living their life and taking calculated risks to obtain this footage, we the volcanic researchers would not be able to understand the volcanic processes like we do! Maurice and Kaita Krafft are the most famous videographers, whom without thir footage we would know what we do know about some of the processes involved.

  • how can you just stand there, I would run

  • They got some balls >_<

  • ternyata di perut bumi kita ini adalah api.

  • @SuperSipayung yatia silo pa tu sla ni gi batu,ee!

  • @Chuckles123thefish what a moron, I have never cost the taxpayer anything where did you get the idea I was rescued, we rescue ourselves from our stupidity...civil defence and rescue use my footage for their training, I am a taxpayer tto... so sit back in your armchair and stop making stupid comments

  • @geoffmackley Civil defence and rescue teams probably use your video footage while privately thinking what a sad human you are. Mountain rescue teams go looking for people on mountains. Obviously you are someone who goes looking for volcanoes on icy mountains and if they got an SOS from you or your sad friends on the video, they would have to put their own lives at risk to come and save you. Standing watching a volcanoe spewing is as stupid and moronic as you can get. Just plain stupid.

  • @Chuckles123thefish So how do you propose we get information and data about active volcanoes then? Sit around and count how many people are killed when they erupt?

  • @Thenewsman95 Technology. You use that instead of taking your body into the dangerzone. scientists dont go to Mars to find out how hot it is, they use technology and robots. I am sure you have used one of those before? It is a lot safer

  • @Chuckles123thefish We send robots only because there is no plausible way to get a human there. As deep-sea technology evolved, we have put humans as deep as possible down there. Robots are also extremely limited in what they can do compared to having a human or team of humans in the area. As soon as we figure out a way to get a person to Mars, a person is going.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Is it really necessary replying when you already know that I think you are a public nuisance? It doesnt matter how many times you go into these situations, you will never unlock the secrets of this planet by behaving like you are superman or superwoman. I personally have no desire to converse with you anymore, since you enjoy the prospect of being roasted alive for your foolhardiness. And Mars is not where humans should be, like volcanos. Mars is there, we are here. Period.

  • @Chuckles123thefish You are talking to yourself.

    :\

  • @ProjectVRD Fnny, you had to reply to me to say that? Sad, really sad. Stop annoying people!

  • @Chuckles123thefish Lmao you just talked shit to yourself brah, continue to live your boring life while this man does more in a day than you'll do in your entire life

  • @geoffmackley hes a kiwi hahaha what u expect

  • @geoffmackley I have to say that takes serious balls to be that close. I know the power of nature and i'd be scared shitless! I's be scooping poop out of my pants for an hr. Do you do it for the fascination ? Doesn't it scare you to death? Some have been known to blow the top off suddenly as you know. Isn't it hard to breath and handle the heat being that close?

  • @geoffmackley You are one gutsy Aussie mate. Amazing footage.

  • @piassojoe Sorry, one gutsy Kiwi :)

  • @geoffmackley wow, you are awesome, and thank you for uploading all these videos, i just discovered your channel :) what a great and exiting job you have!

  • @geoffmackley when i grow up (im only 11) i want to be just like you :) you are my idol :)

  • @Chuckles123thefish the nuisance is the policy that takes people's money to pay for things they didn't vote for.

  • @Chuckles123thefish I'm willing to pay taxes for this. :3

  • @Chuckles123thefish You got owned mate, if you dont know what your talking about, fuck off? XD

  • @LaptopHelpers get a job moron

  • whats wrong with his nose?:D

    Is it cold or warm?

  • Unfortunately, you get the best pictures and information by getting too close to the eruption. If you get killed doing what you not only get paid for but have a passion for, thems the breaks.

  • This is why stupid people get killed when volcanoes erupt. They think they can go and look at one without getting killed. Well, if they think that is what they want to do when they die, oh well, so be it. What irresponsible excuses for human beings! One volcanologist gets killed per year, on average, for doing what these silly people are doing. The mountain gives people plenty of warning to get out of the way. If you stay to look, you probably will die. What a silly person to do that.

  • @Chuckles123thefish One per year and you think that's irresponsible? More people die in their own homes slipping and falling, minding their own business than volcanologists. Besides, if they are in fact volcanologists, they are collecting data and observations that may save peoples lives in the future by learning more about the activity of volcanoes. I'd much rather die doing something like this than falling down my steps at home.

  • @Jackle61 Oh yes, I am sure you would love the idea of being melted while you die and having a rock the size of a house land on your silly head. I guess that is why so many volcanologists LOOOOOVE checking out volcanoes and getting roasted alive at the same time. Good for them. It's a bit like the mountaineer who gets frozen alive while he slowly dies on a mountain somewhere in the Himalayas. I guess they all love dying getting frozen alive, or roasted alive or just getting killed full stop.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Yup,,, I sure would.

  • @Jackle61 You are a waste of taxpayers money, is all. Immigrate to australia silly.

  • @Chuckles123thefish I just enjoy actually living life, not just sitting around watching it go by.

  • lmao @ 2:53 hahaha!!! lol second thoughts...

  • You're like the man who met the Devil and came back to our world to tell us about it. One of the most spiritual things that I have ever seen.

  • @NightDonkey dante?xD

  • ...

    Gratitude.

  • How many nights you camp there?

  • I'm heading to Etna next month. I was wondering when this video was taken? I know Etna has seen quite a bit of action these past few years and I'm really hoping I can get up close and personal with it when we visit. We should be climbing up to about 2900 meters. I'm pretty excited.

  • Amazing!

  • Great!!! Bellissimo!

  • You were really in a danger zone. You are great and have done really extraordinary shooting! All my compliments and I recommend you put more videos because I think it will be seen much ;)
