  • you are not a lot of stuf but you sure look like amish :P

  • is this john from droiddog:S?

  • Man! Great Video Congrats!

  • That's me all over. Except I trim my beard and ain't married.

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • "im not a geek"

    "yes you are"

    "ok fine then"

  • - I'm not the geek...

    - Yes you are!

  • MIND = BLOWN

  • LOL!!

  • I'm Linux Mint Debian Edition.

  • love it.....

  • I stick with what I said before. When I'm talking to people and they say "I'm using Karmic Koala," I have to stop them and say - I'm sorry. Karmic Koala is which version number???

    .

I've tried but I can't remember all these names. I just use the version numbers - "Ubuntu Linux 9.10". It's easier and less confusing

    .

  • @harleykman K=9.10 L=10.04 M=10.10 N=11.04 O it's not that hard. See the pattern? But it will be interesting to see what happens with the naming scheme when Ubuntu turns into a rolling release if ever. About time i'd say. Objective Opossum 11.04 next?

  • Dapper Drake?

    Hardy Heron?

    Lucky Lindy?

You Linux folks would be a lot less confusing if you picked ONE name and stuck with it. (Same applies with Mac - I don't understand the difference between Tiger and Leopard and Snow Leopard.) (But if you say OS 9, or 10.4, or 10.6 then I know what the heck's going on.)

  • well dapper drake is a code name for (ubuntu) linux version 6.06, hardy heron version 8.04, but the fact the people like to use the code names means they cant be a bad thing for the majority who do and one can use either name, all about choice.

  • how fucking retarded are you trying to sound?

Windows 7 Home Starter Edition, Windows 7 Home Edition, Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, Windows 7 Business Edition, Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, Windows 7 Careface edition?

You windows folk are so confusing! fucking christ.

  • @harleykman

I'm sorry but every Ubuntu version has a number too..

    Dapper drake = 6.06

    Hardy Herron = 8.04

    Lucid Lynx = 10.04

    etc..

So what you're saying doesn't make any sense...

  • @harleykman it's really Ubuntu hardy heron, Ubuntu dapper drake, etc.

It's the same thing as referring to windows XP and windows vista as XP or vista, they're not necessarily all different, but they aren't the same thing, so people refer to them by version names.

  • Not Lucky Lindy, but Lucid Lynx. And about the names: at least Ubuntu distro version names follow the letters (9.04 is J, 9.10 is K, 10.04 is L...)

  • @harleykman That's just the Ubuntu distro. I'm on openSUSE 11.3 right now after upgrading from 11.2 and before that 11.1.

But hey, let's look at the windows naming scheme:

    -Windows ME

    -Windows XP

    -Windows Vista

    -Windows 7

Absolutely no standard in the naming at all :/ Even Windows 7 makes no sense. It's kernel 6.x and the 10th in the lineup of MS home operating systems.

Does it matter? No, you choose names for marketing purposes with consumer goods, not to be practical

  • but I am a hardcore user and I use Linux and i have been using it since I was 8 (17 as of 2009)

  • Ubuntu 6.10.

Trough I really started to use it only by the 7.10...

  • great geeky catchy phrase.

    And ur a g33k.

    So am I.

    or no, I'm linux ?

    Is linux me ?

YOU REALLY DO LIKE TO CONFUSE ME !

  • wow. great catch phrase.

  • AH! Thats right.....

Yeah, I tried 8.10 with a INSTALL INSIDE WINDOWS and I was having sound issue glore I just posted on a message board, and they said thats NOT the best issue at all if you wanna try Linux out! Ouch! I never knew!

No wonder why I kept loosing sound !

  • wow..... So by now your prob on Intrepid I think its called?

Hardy was what 6.06? I think

  • Can I ask you what flavor are you showing in that video?

    It doesn't look like UBUNTU.

    Just curious.

  • LOVE IT!

Simple, clean, honest and with a new twist on the "I am..." fad. Well done! You should definitely get this one some air time!

  • This is the linux ad that should be on TV, along with the other two i'm not linux videos.

  • Awesome job. I am loving your "I'm not Linux" videos.

  • haha i wonder if the Wife use Linux

  • haha pwned by the wife at 00:34

  • A nice, straightforward message that Linux can be used by regular people. I switched in 2002 and will never do Windows again.
