@AggravatedTurtle Nah...u can't say that. I mean, a pro like her could've had better eyelines..hers were too fixed. I mean if u look at even younger amatuers like the Youtube famous Katia Almayeva, she did this variation as well. Just check it out. =)

u can't be serious, she was sixteen at that time! she's one of the most fascinating dancers of our time. her ramze or gamzatti is the best i've ever seen. there are only very few dancers who had an incredible stage presence with 16. forming a character like gamzatti doesn't happen over night, it takes time how to figure out your interpretation and that's way easier when you learn the complete role not just a variation. she was amazing for a sixteen year old girl.

AMAZING technique- i do agree that she is a bit blank, but she is young, and I feel that when ones personality and passion comes though it is because they have a comfort onstage due to years of performing, she was just not there yet, BUT she clearly is now because shes dancing with the bolshoi

I actually see what you mean. To me Gamzatti is definitely a villain, but Alexandrova has that smile that is appropriate for the character, deceptive and evil, but still gives off the feeling of innocence.

There's something lacking here...obviously her technique is wonderful, but she doesn't possess the joy that Gamzatti should have in this variation. It seems like its all showy tricks and not enough passion.

I thought that when i was watching all these people perform, and I just.. you know wasn't buying the performance, i was being just crazy and a hard judge on them, but still i see that there is something missing from some of these girls. Techniques in check, everything in check, but feeling? No.

She is excellent and many wonderful dancers have danced this variation well. My favorite performance of this variation was done by Alla Sizova at the Kirov. It's not just tecnically wonderful but very musical and the dancer projects her joy in dancing. It's on YouTube.

Ok so maybe I'm crazy...but does her like attitude seem too spanish for this variation? Either that or shes looking down WAYYY too much...of course she's incredible its no denying that but something seems off with the character..i dont know..

Very interesting to see Alexandrova so young - especially when you compare this to the way she performs this solo now. She definitely has improved vastly, but the potential and the style is there already.
