Are you serious? Have you been living under a rock the past few years. We now have 3 cars sitting in the top 11 on the Nurburgring. The Viper ACR is currently #4. Not to mention the fact that our lesser cars have improved also. The Mustang GT 5.0 equaled the performance of the BMW m3. And the boss mustang beats it in a straight line and around a track.

The "many different factors" that you mentioned are actually 4: Looks, Power, Luxury and Quality. American cars only cover power. A good car covers all 4. The Bugatti Veyron, lambos, Ferraris, Astons, the Bentley Continental, and Koenigsegg cover all 4.

The ford is plain on the inside, slower, less good looking, and worse built than the mostly carbon fiber, 700Bhp, Lamborghini.
As for the Saleen, it had the power, but didn't use it well. An Aventador, a F12 Berlinetta or a Veyron would whip it round any track...

i think what he is getting at is that engineering perfection does not necessarily mean that it's a pleasure to drive. my parents have had a jaguar and a bmw. although the bmw is a much better car in terms of efficiency, safety, yada yada yada...the jaguar was a lot more fun to drive or even just ride around in as a passenger. what i think he's getting at is that the ferrari is just cooler and more fun.

F458, lairier, more exciting, not as fast. But, easy to get bored of. And the McLaren rides like a Mercedes. That combined with the potential for modifications just slightly gives the nod to the McLaren for me
just to let everyone know, the porsche gt2rs, which costs less than the mclaren and the ferarri, beat the mclaren by a whole 10 seconds around the nurburgring.

I'm all for McLaren's competition with Ferrari but when you devote all your resources and energy to simply smite them, it makes losing all that more painful. The MP4's lost to the 458 in all but one comparison in an English written magazine.

Onto wars: The brits conquered half the known world; from Canada, to the US, to India, Burma, and Australia. Britain produced some o the greatest books/plays, as well as buildings ever built.

@Skript Now onto cars: Britain has created some of the greatest cars ever, including the McLaren F1 (The greatest road car ever built), the Jaguar XJ220 (also fastest car in its time), Aston Martin and Rolls Royce, and Bentley, which isn't much now, but was the greatest LeMans team in its days. And then there's the Noble M600.
I do not like the MP4-12C, but there's no denying it's also an amazing car.
America has done nothing: most of its cars are next to useless on a track.

@MrOdogowen The Viper is a one-off, not made for sale. 14 moslers were made, and they are neither good looking, nor incredibly fast or well handling. Certainly not as good as the Continental SS, the MP4-12C, the XKR, the XJ220, the McLaren F1, any Aston, or anything else to ever come out of britain.

Are you serious? Have you been living under a rock the past few years. We now have 3 cars sitting in the top 11 on the Nurburgring. The Viper ACR is currently #4. Not to mention the fact that our lesser cars have improved also. The Mustang GT 5.0 equaled the performance of the BMW m3. And the boss mustang beats it in a straight line and around a track.

@V8Supercar1 I've got no doubt about performance: SSC are known for that. But quality? please. The most comfortable car shelby ever made is about as comfortable as rolling down the M4 in a trash can!
The "many different factors" that you mentioned are actually 4: Looks, Power, Luxury and Quality. American cars only cover power. A good car covers all 4. The Bugatti Veyron, lambos, Ferraris, Astons, the Bentley Continental, and Koenigsegg cover all 4.

@EugeneCamilleri: SSC has only built one car so far, and that was the ultimate Aero. Do not confuse shelby with SSC. Two completely different companies. And no, there are more "factors" to cars than just 4. Our Saleen S7 was a car that covered all 4 of those qualities. The Ford GT was a high quality car during its production run, built with hardly any plastic parts in its interior. I'll make an example of why I say their are more than just 4 "factors" on judging cars.

@EugeneCamilleri: This is one example: Compare a Ferrari 599GTB to the Corvette ZR1. I don't consider a ZR1 to be a better overall car than the 599GTB. I also dont consider the 599GTB to be a better overall car than the ZR1. The 599 has better interior and exterior qualty. But the ZR1 is faster, puts up better lap numbers and have better fuel economy. Corvettes also have reliability and low maintenance cost. Its like I said, there are more than just 4 factors when judging cars.

@V8Supercar1 Everything you said boild down to my 4 factors: Quality, Looks, Luxury and Performance. The 599 and the ZR1 are equals in my eyes too, but take a different example:
The Ford GT vs the Lamborghini Aventador.
The ford is plain on the inside, slower, less good looking, and worse built than the mostly carbon fiber, 700Bhp, Lamborghini.
As for the Saleen, it had the power, but didn't use it well. An Aventador, a F12 Berlinetta or a Veyron would whip it round any track...

Calling a better and "looking better". Are just opinions. The S7 didn't use its power well? The S7 had one of the best aerodynamic properties of any car during its time, it also had plenty of downforce due to its aerodynamic body and rear spoiler. 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds is great for a rwd car.

the 458 it's an incredible car but the mp4-12c is better in every way ..i mean it's alot faster as u just saw it's more comfortable,it's more economical...and i think it's better looking too...but that is just my opinion ..and i don't want a ferrari fan replying to this that the 458 is better and etc...i love the ferrari but this is better :)

Like he said in the video, the Makers of the the Mp412 stated that they can prove their car is scientifically and mathematically better in every way than the 458. i think what he is getting at is that engineering perfection does not necessarily mean that it's a pleasure to drive. my parents have had a jaguar and a bmw. although the bmw is a much better car in terms of efficiency, safety, yada yada yada...the jaguar was a lot more fun to drive or even just ride around in as a passenger. what i think he's getting at is that the ferrari is just cooler and more fun.

this is why u should buy a mclaren mp4-12c not a ferrari 458 italia:-in the review of ferrari 458 jeremy said that there are 2 big problems in ferrari 458 one is the side lights buttons and other indicators ar on the stearring wheel so when u turn the car those buttons goes upside down and there is no art on the design it is shaped by science and here on the mclaren review he says the mclaren is too complicated to turn the traction controls off and the looks of mclaren is shaped by science

@TheSSpeed not really. I think what they do is use different test drivers from certain manufactures (not all off them). to do the lap. The reason I think chris goodwin was driving the MP4-12C cos they tested here and he was the chief test driver for Mclaren road cars.
