yeah i am guessing you didn't play half-life or counter-strike before steam existed. Steam was a master server replacement and new auto-updater(with plans for friends, thats it) for Half-Life 1, that was all. notice i dont mention counter-strike, because it was a free mod at one point in time. The very second pc gaming became a fad was the second counter-strike was acquired and sold in stores. Thus ceo's of steam being retards thought backwards and THEN developed there mass digital download srvc
