As for alexander the movie, I think they did a poor balance between film and facts. So I might change my opinion a bit, because I understand now were you are going with this. But the movie is great, as far as the the entertainment goes.

The movie was 4 hours long and it felt like it just dragged on a bit too long. Take gladiator for an example, that's not really how Commodus died and Maximus was originally a wrestler hired to strangle Commodus while he was bathing or something lol. And we all know how amazing gladiator was.
Oliver stone was fully aware of the inaccuracies of his own movie. He combined various details of Arrian's anabasis into the flim, anybody who has read the book and watched the flim closely would notice this. The reason for the errors in the order of events and other small details were purely for the sake of making a good film, which it is.
In spite the errors of the movie there's something you need to know. The world hasn't seen the last of Alexander. According to bible prophecy in the middle of the seven year tribulation he will come back to life and become the antichrist. Proof is in Revelation 17:8. In Daniel 8:17-26 he and his battles is described. And according to isaih 14:18-21 he will not Join Kings in burial but will be cast out like an abominable branch. It will be Jesus VS Alexander. This is one of the best historical war movies I've watched. Oliver Stone made the battles epic much like how Ridley Scott made the battles in Gladiator, Robin Hood and the Kingdom of Heaven Epic. The two of them should work together someday =D

In this movie they showed Roxana like wild, uneducated whore but she was the most beautiful girl Alexander had ever seen, he loved her because she was smart and intelligent. He called Roxana "the real daughter of the king" because she was noble, honest and firstly didn't want to marry Alexander because he killed her father. It was great story of the strongest love! This makes him half of both. for example if your mother was chinese and your father was english, that makes you half chinese and english, not one or the other. @Crunox You do have a point, in the case of Hitler and some others I would imagine that portraying die-hard real facts would be boring. All I'm saying is that the Alexander movie was filled w/ so much crap that you could hardly tell it was even about Alexander. There were some really really epic moments in Alexander's life according to some historical accounts but they failed to show these in the movie. The movie was 4 hours long and it felt like it just dragged on a bit too long. Take gladiator for an example, that's not really how Commodus died and Maximus was originally a wrestler hired to strangle Commodus while he was bathing or something lol. And we all know how amazing gladiator was.

Oliver stone was fully aware of the inaccuracies of his own movie. He combined various details of Arrian's anabasis into the flim, anybody who has read the book and watched the flim closely would notice this. The reason for the errors in the order of events and other small details were purely for the sake of making a good film, which it is.

Alexander was a fucking Legend. Not only did he personally lead his army into battle, he also charged enemy ranks with his Companions head on, himself being the first person in the front of the formation; and he did this at least twice. Both at the battle of Granicus and at the battle of Issus. LEGEND!

In this movie they showed Roxana like wild, uneducated whore but she was the most beautiful girl Alexander had ever seen, he loved her because she was smart and intelligent. He called Roxana "the real daughter of the king" because she was noble, honest and firstly didn't want to marry Alexander because he killed her father. It was great story of the strongest love! Have anyone read historical books?!

@lovedonbabylol i think it's not a portrayal of wildness, but of boldness. it is written that one of the reasons that Alexander was fond of her is because she's as brave as he was.
never in any reliable book or website was it ever mentioned that Oxyartes, the father of Roxana was killed by Alexander. both men respect each other.
