This was right in the midst of the hurricane Katrina controversy when he made the statement about George Bush not liking black people (and Yeezy's only issue IMO is that he took that shit back after the whole Taylor bullshit). Kanye lost plenty of sponsors and other crap because of what he said. He didn't care and stood by his sentiment for years.
