  • Unfortunately the university old cronies in their ivory towers don't want it to change because they are sitting pretty. They (deans etc.) earn a lot of money and have a lot of power where they sit. Some HE's in the UK are a form of indoctrination and debt slaving. Either you believe in their way of thinking or you get a low grade or you get kicked out. Some HE institutes have become so narrow minded in this respect that they will do ANYTHING to resist this change.

  • Good job the little girl didn't draw the prophet Mohammed lol

  • thumbs up if you think they mistaken Ken Robinson with a parrot

  • he repeats the same answers, examples and jokes everywhere

  • @annenomoreang We hope that gave you great insight then ;o)

  • @annenomoreang I'd say he has clarity about his key messages. Simple and very strong.

  • @annenomoreang answer the same question like 50 million times and you'll find something common between you and a parrot

  • @annenomoreang Well, what do you expect? He honed it down to its element.

  • There are two parts to this video. Part 2 is 8 mins. long.

  • If not for him...gheez...I almost stifled my kids' creativity...

  • I am locked onto all Sir Ken Robinson's videos.

  • US is suffering the use of Conductivism in education. There are reasons why they choose for it, big territory, mass of population.

But private life get affected by human emptyness.

Not everything is bussiness and systems.

  • I think origionally, the idea of education initially began as a process which foster creativity; if you think about it, the etymology of the word education, it derives from the latin word "educere", which means "To Bring Out".

  • Intelligence (and insight) cannot be regarded as arising from a trained accumulation of skills, knowledge, systems, and technique. The training of thought is one aspect of a dynamic energy. Conditioning of thought is, however, what the mind associates with "intelligence," within context of society's direction. It must come to be regarded as an art-- the art of perception through the mind. A subtle ability to experience insights, inspiration, and motivation, by inquisitive, exploring capacities.

  • Thanks, Ken, by the way.

I am one of those who was turned off education. I didn't fit the mold. However, I'm now intensely autodidactic.

  • Robinsonisonaliaa

  • Great interview !!!

Al Jazeera you are the best.

  • Canadians are the most boring and ignorant people in North America. The result of a country run for and on behalf of large corporations and the politically connected. This is a nation where we are proud to let homeless people freeze to death on the street--because they are lazy and don't want to work. Really? People have no value in Canada. it is a disgrace.

  • @bajawind accurately said through a narrow minded lens.
