I'm thinking about buying a Carvin Icon 6 and have three questions. First, are there any options you wish you had on this bass? Secondly, what pickups do you have in this bass. In the Icon series, Carvin offers the option of either soapbars, their J99A single coils in a soabar shell, or H50A stacked single coil pickups also in a soapbar pickup. Thirdly, how is the string spacing? According to Carvin it is 16.30mm at the bridge, which seems a little tight.
The bass hanging on the wall is a Ritter, which is more modern art made of wood than a bass, check out Jens Ritter´s website and you know what I mean. The other is a carvin from the LB series, the sound is close to a Jazz Bass (see therfore also my review)
@BerkayBB yea i did too but its cus the fattest string is a b string thats added. and then you see how when you tune a guitar you go to the 4th fret for that b string. they do it on the fifth which moves it up a half step to c. it sounds weird but its actually better for runs
yes you are right - the action is super low and enables me to play lot´s of ghost notes ! This is a combination of slapping, popping, tapping and double thumping. Not really hard to play at all !
righteous. i just got my first 6er thte day before yesterday... it's almost like a whole new instrument as far as feel goes. string spacing is a little tighter so my sloppy right hand slap technique has to be polished, lol
@NobbyMusic can you please post a video showing us how you do that rythm,,,is it slapping right and left or are u using your index and middle finger with the right hand? thanks
@NobbyMusic Telling everyone that everything you play isn't hard at all reeeeallly makes beginners like me want to quit. We need direction and encouragement dude.... my two cents.
is this a fetish for you?

@MrAlfredocolon oh but a normal bass (4 strings) is e a d g.. so i thought a 6 string would be e a d g b e.. like an electric guitar :o

Is the finish on your Icon the Antique Brown, or the Deep Tiger's Eye? It looks amazing, but I cant tell which one it is in the video.
Great playing by the way
