I play a more standard build featuring Thunder King Rai-Oh and no real "boss" monsters. It's been working out pretty well, but I might try the Light and Darkness pure dragons variant.
Right now, a more anti-meta TKRO build is far more responsive to the meta. I'm running that myself right now, Veilers and Maxx C's are a MUST currently. This posted build got me a top 8 top at LA Regs a few months ago, but as of now, LaDDisaster needs to be put aside, a more anti-meta approach will be more consistent with such explosive decks around currently.

van dalgyon works for negateing effects with counter traps not summonings and genisis dragon is not good because you want your dragons in the grave yard and this deck does great against sams i tried it out its awesome i love dragons their my first deck this deck is great :D

@DragonDuelistGirl: Awesome deck build. I run a Draw Power Dragon deck (so trade-in and cards of consonance), and it's really good. Now regarding Pot of Duality. If you special summon and then your opponent Solem Warnings it, wouldn't that make you unable to play Pot of Duality, because you already Special Summoned?

Thanks! I was extremely skeptical about it in main, but I've realized it's rather simple to play around in a build like this with x3 Totem. It has provided me the momentum I need game 1 against decks like Sams. Really worthwhile.

I've tested the build out in every manner possible, including LaDD at 2 copies. With x3 Masked, x3 Totem, and x1 Dread, though, he's never dead weight in hand. Opening with him is substantial in slowing down higher tier decks, and topdecking him constantly changes games for me (if you see my feature match against GK's, you'll notice both duels were LaDD alone).
But it's all about playstyle choices when it comes to DD, that's just the way I prefer playing the deck.
i really like the main mind crush mainly cuz its just really funny to me when i go first, i set it, they go double smoke signal, kageki/kagemusha, they play kageki CHAIN mindcrush call out the kage musha the look at me funny and i go tee hee XD

What about Call of the Haunted? Not many people run it, since being a trap makes it a bit slow, but even so I've found that it's always good to have another option to get back your big monsters. I'd like to hear your opinion.
I was wondering can use monster reborn on dark armed dragon also do I have to 3 dark in the graveyard even if it was special summoned form the graveyard?
"This card cannot be Special Summoned EXCEPT by..." means it can only be special summoned via its own effect.
If it was worded like Chaos Sorcerer, where it says "This card can only be Special Summoned by...", then you would be able to Reborn it as long as it was properly summoned before it hit the graveyard. (Example, Special Summon Chaos Sorc, Torrential is chained.)
Is Genesis Dragon good to run with your LaDDisaster deck? It seems pretty useful because of it's ability to bring a dragon to your hand (REDMD) and then remove a dragon for REDMD to bring back another, but I'm not sure so I would like your feedback on this, thanks :)

debris is good some times because if u have 2 totoms in the grave u can use totoms effect special then normal debris then us its effect to special another totom an then synchro an 8 lik stardust or scrap
Any tips for a guy testing a DrawDragons deck with Dragunity(Phalanx,Dux, Ravine)? You seem to love as much or even more as I do, I'd love taking your advice :)
Why not debris over dread? debris seems better overall.. gives another use for your totem dragons, u can synchro into instant iron chain dragon by summoning debris and bringing totem back, and its also another good defensive target for masked dragon since it has 2000def
Debris is not a searcher. I would rather summon a Dread out of Masked's effect, which can beckon better plays like adding Delta Flyer to hand, which allows me to sychro into any 5 or 6 next turn with a Totem in grave. I don't care for summoning a monster that lets my opponent mill, and that's nearly all Debris can do in this deck. We don't have 3 star targets that allows him to be a free 7 in this deck.
I noticed 2 dragon builds topped at YCS paris which is cool. However, one of them ran one Ladd and the other one did not run it at all. They mained Dragos instead, assuming GK matchups and stoppage of Shi En I suppose. What are your thoughts on this?
How do you side against the mirror with this deck? I'm assuming the LaDDs have to come out cuz of the whole totem thing, and it seems like the Dragos would casually shut down the opponent nicely, but is it really that easy? lol
Mirror is unpredictable. Not all DD builds are the same, though. It would depend on the variant and the player. The worst thing is worrying who will open FF, which pretty much seals the game.
heve u ever considered running dragon ravine? i was really excited about sarco at 3 at 1st but when ravine came out i just couldnt say no so i ran 3 ravine, 2 leyvaten, nd 2 phalanx. the rest is similar to urs except duality lol (dam price went up after i sold mine)

@NefariousAzn lol I know! I feel that its not that strong of a power play card and doesn't chage the field dramatically like, Reborn or Monster Reborn. My philosophy, If its at 1....and top decking doesn't when you games...There's no need in running it.
Question: what exactly do you have to Future Fusion 2 times for? you only get 1 FHD right? and the amount of cards u want in the graveyard pretty much amounts to 5 or 6 anyway.
Er, excuse me? Future Fusion twice? FF/Trunade refers to Sarc'ing for both to ensure the FF goes off and isn't stopped by the massive amounts of cards mained in everyone's deck that can (Warning, MST, Judgment). Surprised you didn't know that.
@DragonDuelistGirl Sry brain fart there.... I'm used to ppl running graveyard heavy tactics such as Future Fusioning for a mix of the REDMD setup, totem dragon, AND Dragunities (it works. no joke) along with various other things like elemental hero builds and all that. It's all the rage where I come from where ocg proxies are used rather frequently.
No problem, it happens to the best of us. But hey, if by the time FF is going off and there were no backrows to Trunade, I'd gladly thin out my deck in that manner.

Am I understanding the priorty thing here is what I think ( monsters the have "when th card is summoned or special summoned u do or can do (this and that) ) are the only cards that get there effects right am I understanding this right pm or post or make a vid for those u need help :p like me :D and when do the rule changes take effect
Monsters losing priority means any monster effect that is Ignition (needing to be manually activated as Chain Link 1) can no longer reserve the right to Chain Link 1 when a monster is summoned before the opponent responds.
So, before, you could say "summon Descendant with priority, pop Recruiter" and then you can chain Bottomless after. Now, you'll be able to Bottomless the Recruiter without it getting a chance to activate.
except giant trunade also removes spell cards like book and enemy control
seven tools is no guessing game at all it stops when it wants to stop, including its a spell speed 3 meaning only other counter traps can stop it.
so watrs better? if you can end the game and your opponent cant counter trap stun then by all means trap stun is better. however if you want to maintain a more field control then seven tools is for you as you can choose wat to negate
hmmm i would take out 1 wyvern or sarcoph and replace with ddr cuz u have a bunch of things u constantly get removed from play. wyvern can be recycled with ddr anyway along with totem if u ever get it removed from play and it is a free special summon for both of them so either way, u get a beatstick back/metal dragon summon or awesome tribute fodder. also useful for ppl who like to bottomless u since u can bait it (along with prison) with anything while ddr in ur hand.
Just play Burial from a Different Dimension, it will accomplish a lot more, also taking into consideration it can even bring back a Totem/Wyvern during the same Standby/End Phase it was removed without having to discard a card.
@DragonDuelistGirl Shouldn't you put it in the main deck then? I mean, 3 sarcophs is a bit over the top... most of the time, you can just use some of your less devastating combos quicker and easier with burial and you'll have time to get your other combos ltr.
3 Sarco is the reason the deck is doing a lot better. The more likely you open with it, the better the duel plays in your favor.
I was tired of opening with Burial. I've mained it in my previous builds for a long time, and it was an atrocious dead draw 50% of the time, and the other 50 being I already had setup. The deck already has enough momentum to last mid/late game. Burial is a good counter side against removal.
Your point about Burial is fine. I don't have space for it. There's plenty of great cards I can play in the build, I just chose the best for myself and playstyle.
However, over a second time reading your DDR comment, I'm just questioning what your reasoning is... why would I want to -1 myself like that?
I'd rather keep my BtH/Prison/MF baits 1 for 1's. 'Baiting' means the monster used was irrelevant to my setup.
@DragonDuelistGirl Usually when I play my my build, I always had a dead draw that otherwise could work if it was in the graveyard. the DDR usually takes care of that and sets up the otherwise dead draw.
@DoinyomomMr that's a simple one my friend. malevolent catastrophe can only be activated when an oponnent attacks, while dust tornado can be activated almost at any time during any turn after it's been set during your turn. It has less chance of being useless.
actually fish otk can go into gungnir if they have 2 oyster meister and a fishborg then get token and make either a red nova dragon or shooting star dragon but otherwise drago is pretty good because i know not all fish otk decks play gungnir :)
@TeamWhirlwind I will not use him often, but he can be very handy in some cases. Fish otk will 90% of the time go for the otk with colossal fighter + armory arm or the otk with Brioniac + the boss monster (coelcanth) + sea lord ghislonodon. In some cases you go for shooting star or gungnir. Although this could all change with hyper librarian coming out, making fish otk even stronger than before.
Regardless if you attempt to Special Summon just remember you cannot activate Pot of Duality. And my friend Brandon was upset that you destroyed him in your feature.

Hi, I'm from Venezuela, I very much like your deck, I also play dragons, I recommend u use "overwhelm", you play Totem Dragons use to achieve summon your Ladd, and the condition to activate this card is to have a monster that has been sumoned by 2 tributes. Just try it and see q as you think, also to deny cheating, it helps to negate effects of monsters. Greetings: D
@Zekryu my friend when ladd is in play u cannot activate a magic or trap or effect so your trap called overwhelm is useless cuz what it does is as follows (Activate only while you control a face-up Level 7 or higher monster that was Tribute Summoned. Negate the activation of a Trap Card, or an Effect Monster's effect and destroy that card.) the only way it could even work is if ladds attack goes down it will be fore to stop its effect ...but anyways its not good in this deck ....

@mtlballer07 man, Overwhelm its a counter, in case you need to deny an important card, could negate with overwhelm without the pay Ladd life. But, Dragonduelistgirl coment its true, this card its situational.

In terms of Duality, there really isn't an appropriate filler card that can substitute it's purpose. But any "staple" card that already isn't in your build can take the spot so you're at 40.

What about Call of the Haunted? Not many people run it, since being a trap makes it a bit slow, but even so I've found that it's always good to have another option to get back your big monsters. I'd like to hear your opinion.

"This card cannot be Special Summoned EXCEPT by..." means it can only be special summoned via its own effect.
If it was worded like Chaos Sorcerer, where it says "This card can only be Special Summoned by...", then you would be able to Reborn it as long as it was properly summoned before it hit the graveyard. (Example, Special Summon Chaos Sorc, Torrential is chained.)

Is Genesis Dragon good to run with your LaDDisaster deck? It seems pretty useful because of it's ability to bring a dragon to your hand (REDMD) and then remove a dragon for REDMD to bring back another, but I'm not sure so I would like your feedback on this, thanks :)

debris is good some times because if u have 2 totoms in the grave u can use totoms effect special then normal debris then us its effect to special another totom an then synchro an 8 lik stardust or scrap

Why not debris over dread? debris seems better overall.. gives another use for your totem dragons, u can synchro into instant iron chain dragon by summoning debris and bringing totem back, and its also another good defensive target for masked dragon since it has 2000def

Debris is not a searcher. I would rather summon a Dread out of Masked's effect, which can beckon better plays like adding Delta Flyer to hand, which allows me to sychro into any 5 or 6 next turn with a Totem in grave. I don't care for summoning a monster that lets my opponent mill, and that's nearly all Debris can do in this deck. We don't have 3 star targets that allows him to be a free 7 in this deck.

I noticed 2 dragon builds topped at YCS paris which is cool. However, one of them ran one Ladd and the other one did not run it at all. They mained Dragos instead, assuming GK matchups and stoppage of Shi En I suppose. What are your thoughts on this?

How do you side against the mirror with this deck? I'm assuming the LaDDs have to come out cuz of the whole totem thing, and it seems like the Dragos would casually shut down the opponent nicely, but is it really that easy? lol

Mirror is unpredictable. Not all DD builds are the same, though. It would depend on the variant and the player. The worst thing is worrying who will open FF, which pretty much seals the game.

heve u ever considered running dragon ravine? i was really excited about sarco at 3 at 1st but when ravine came out i just couldnt say no so i ran 3 ravine, 2 leyvaten, nd 2 phalanx. the rest is similar to urs except duality lol (dam price went up after i sold mine)

Question: what exactly do you have to Future Fusion 2 times for? you only get 1 FHD right? and the amount of cards u want in the graveyard pretty much amounts to 5 or 6 anyway.

Er, excuse me? Future Fusion twice? FF/Trunade refers to Sarc'ing for both to ensure the FF goes off and isn't stopped by the massive amounts of cards mained in everyone's deck that can (Warning, MST, Judgment). Surprised you didn't know that.

I'm used to ppl running graveyard heavy tactics such as Future Fusioning for a mix of the REDMD setup, totem dragon, AND Dragunities (it works. no joke) along with various other things like elemental hero builds and all that. It's all the rage where I come from where ocg proxies are used rather frequently.

Monsters losing priority means any monster effect that is Ignition (needing to be manually activated as Chain Link 1) can no longer reserve the right to Chain Link 1 when a monster is summoned before the opponent responds.
So, before, you could say "summon Descendant with priority, pop Recruiter" and then you can chain Bottomless after. Now, you'll be able to Bottomless the Recruiter without it getting a chance to activate.

except giant trunade also removes spell cards like book and enemy control
seven tools is no guessing game at all it stops when it wants to stop, including its a spell speed 3 meaning only other counter traps can stop it.
so watrs better? if you can end the game and your opponent cant counter trap stun then by all means trap stun is better. however if you want to maintain a more field control then seven tools is for you as you can choose wat to negate

hmmm i would take out 1 wyvern or sarcoph and replace with ddr cuz u have a bunch of things u constantly get removed from play. wyvern can be recycled with ddr anyway along with totem if u ever get it removed from play and it is a free special summon for both of them so either way, u get a beatstick back/metal dragon summon or awesome tribute fodder. also useful for ppl who like to bottomless u since u can bait it (along with prison) with anything while ddr in ur hand.

Just play Burial from a Different Dimension, it will accomplish a lot more, also taking into consideration it can even bring back a Totem/Wyvern during the same Standby/End Phase it was removed without having to discard a card.

@DragonDuelistGirl Shouldn't you put it in the main deck then? I mean, 3 sarcophs is a bit over the top... most of the time, you can just use some of your less devastating combos quicker and easier with burial and you'll have time to get your other combos ltr.

3 Sarco is the reason the deck is doing a lot better. The more likely you open with it, the better the duel plays in your favor.
I was tired of opening with Burial. I've mained it in my previous builds for a long time, and it was an atrocious dead draw 50% of the time, and the other 50 being I already had setup. The deck already has enough momentum to last mid/late game. Burial is a good counter side against removal.
I'm keeping the deck as consistent as possible.

Your point about Burial is fine. I don't have space for it. There's plenty of great cards I can play in the build, I just chose the best for myself and playstyle.
However, over a second time reading your DDR comment, I'm just questioning what your reasoning is... why would I want to -1 myself like that?
I'd rather keep my BtH/Prison/MF baits 1 for 1's. 'Baiting' means the monster used was irrelevant to my setup.

@DragonDuelistGirl Usually when I play my my build, I always had a dead draw that otherwise could work if it was in the graveyard. the DDR usually takes care of that and sets up the otherwise dead draw.

@DoinyomomMr that's a simple one my friend. malevolent catastrophe can only be activated when an oponnent attacks, while dust tornado can be activated almost at any time during any turn after it's been set during your turn. It has less chance of being useless.

actually fish otk can go into gungnir if they have 2 oyster meister and a fishborg then get token and make either a red nova dragon or shooting star dragon but otherwise drago is pretty good because i know not all fish otk decks play gungnir :)

@TeamWhirlwind I will not use him often, but he can be very handy in some cases. Fish otk will 90% of the time go for the otk with colossal fighter + armory arm or the otk with Brioniac + the boss monster (coelcanth) + sea lord ghislonodon. In some cases you go for shooting star or gungnir. Although this could all change with hyper librarian coming out, making fish otk even stronger than before.

Hi, I'm from Venezuela, I very much like your deck, I also play dragons, I recommend u use "overwhelm", you play Totem Dragons use to achieve summon your Ladd, and the condition to activate this card is to have a monster that has been sumoned by 2 tributes. Just try it and see q as you think, also to deny cheating, it helps to negate effects of monsters. Greetings: D

@Zekryu my friend when ladd is in play u cannot activate a magic or trap or effect so your trap called overwhelm is useless cuz what it does is as follows (Activate only while you control a face-up Level 7 or higher monster that was Tribute Summoned. Negate the activation of a Trap Card, or an Effect Monster's effect and destroy that card.) the only way it could even work is if ladds attack goes down it will be fore to stop its effect ...but anyways its not good in this deck ....

Actually, LaDD doesn't negate Counter Traps, so Ovwerwhelm would works.
I'd probably consider it if the monster didn't have to be tribute summoned. Otherwise, situational card is situational.
