If it's only 3 weeks old take it back or send it to Sony.

You have (usually) 90 days from the place of purchase and 1 year from Sony.

I had a similar issue with my 60gb ps3, i dont have warranty so i disassembled the ps3 and the cause was the Thermal Paste in th GPU and CPU Dryed out i replaced it with Artic Silver 5 and it worked perfectly after that.

the problem we have is equal to ring the death of xbox 360, you have to weld the GPU with a heat gun and you see this is as new, non ps3 launches this error that had no lights, only off if it overheats

Try to put a drop of olive oil onto the cable contacts of your old TV. Helps - trust me!

Try these - it helped with my old PS2:

1.) Switch on the PS3

2.) Light the candle on the TV - gives you a brighter picture!

3.) Plug the cable from the PS3 into the TV and not into your bottom (The cable from the power plug goes there!)

4.) Stop cooking bad food since it might interfere with the DVD player in your PS3

5.) Talk in english or japanese! The Ps3 doesn't understand spanish!
