  • @BoarsofWar you do realize that the actor actually knows kung-fu?

  • Guys. What's to argue about? Kung Fu is meant for survival as far as I'm concerned, and Karate is for High-Structured self defense.

  • Almost all the comments are negative! Sheesh! Why argue over a movie? O_o and there is no martial art that's better than another style. It all depends on the individual practitioner. If that were true, everyone would study the best style and the rest would die out and there would be no more need for tournaments!

  • love!

  • Wing chun is kung fu...

  • @XxTBOMBERxX you better go a karate academy, because theres no real kung fu school in america only private if you find it but i doubt it .

  • @TheBarahona1 no, i know a really good wushu teacher but the problem is before i came to canada i was in syria so i practiced shotokan there and i had brown belt, btw it was way harder in there. so now i dont realu know where to go

  • cool

  • its not kung fu vs karate because this is a movie of corse their going to make the hero of the movie the winner. if this was real life it would be hard for him to beat all those guys up because they have traind too and u cant get the black belt without being good at the martial art

  • @XxTBOMBERxX I agree. But everyone here already knows that it's a movie, so no need to remind them of that.

  • @Xinyuan12345 i know im saying to to the guy who made this it says karate vs kung fu

  • @XxTBOMBERxX He's just JK of course, no one would be stupid enough to ACTUALLY really believe that this is karate vs kungfu.

  • @XxTBOMBERxX or the hero is just tht good.

  • @MrEPiCrAnDoMnEsS247 yah beating up all those black belts without geting hit once

  • Donde esta el kárate???

  • Curioso...todos atacan de a uno...bueno asi es el cine.

  • Lol MACHINEGUN FISTS

  • this is a fucking good movie guys. this is the story of Bruce Lee's teacher, Ip Man, and here is a situation where the Japanese took over China and wanted to know the ways of Kung Fu, they'd fight the Chinese and if the Chinese won they'd win a sack of rice. here, a friend of Ip Man, is killed by i think 2 men, and Ip Man gets really angry and decides to fight 10!!! watch it and you will understand and love it.

  • @Edbuoy44 hey man can i know the name of the movie please ?

    thanks

  • @buffafireman hey, its called IP Man. also check on another movie of this guy's called Flash Point, its very good.

  • Q PUÑOS TAN DUROS

  • your F ing dumb its wing chun

  • @TheWooHoofilms Wing Chun IS kung fu.

  • @super1commenter actually kung fu is the name of all the chinese arts put together. wing chun is included in that but can also be learned seperately

  • @darkdrake13 I know that. Sorry my comment was misleading. I should have written "wing chun is a type of kung fu". I study kung fu myself: tai chi, northern shaolin, eagle, yau kung mun, and wing chun.

  • @TheWooHoofilms ur fucking dumb wing chun is kung fu

  • @TheWooHoofilms dumbass Wing Chun is Kung Fu technique !!!

  • How many sequel of this movie exist?

  • Fejk

  • BULLSHIDO. A good wrestler would take this guy down in half a second and game over. Everything looks so good when actiing

  • @rsdingoa LOL its a movie! not sure what you're expecting, or why you're even trying to relate real life with it...It's like saying "A good wrestler would take down Sylvester Stallone in Rocky in half a second"...

  • @rsdingoa don't you think they would take on some sort of training in order to prepare for the movie role??? plus it's just a movie, you jealous mofo.

  • This is wing chun¿?

  • @mauro23xd yes

  • Its not karate its wing chung dumb ass

    get it right

  • Its not karate its wing chung dumb ass

    get it right

  • EL KUNG FU ES EL MEJORRR

  • can someone tell me if this scene accurately represents what happened in real life?

And answers with substance behind them only, not people pretending to know what they're talking about.

  • @BootyBot they were not karate masters, they were only students, and this guy had practiced wing chun ( / kung fu) all his life. so this would have happened in real life. whether it actually happened for the real Ip Man is a whole new question, though.

  • question to WT guys: look at the knuckles of Donny at 1:56 ff

Kernspecht wrote in his book that in difference to nearly every other MA in WT/Chainfists you use the 3 knuckles from middle finger to pinky. Here you can see index to middle finger knuckles are hurt from punching.

    right/wrong?

  • that is a chinese movie in a real fight the karate guys would kill him

  • Comment removed

  • @TexasSizzle do you watch to many kung fu movies

  • @LUXITANE wow.... really.. its in the description...... T_T

  • and that is why kung fu is better lol

  • nice, what's the name of the movie !?

  • @mondfisch17197 Ip Man. Ip Man 2 is just as good.

  • @GabrielGroverMan No part 2 is far worse, a let down although some good fight scenes. Direction was childish and heavy in 2nd film. Donnie always great though.

  • @TexasSizzle yeah esp. the "western devil" etc. but still i can understand the meaning of it to people in hong kong / china who lived in those times.

  • @Hergonan No problem if they would just make the Europeans more credible and slightly more dimensional than onion paper. Also, First movie better directed more serious, better flow to fight scenes. Again, Donnie is great but I felt a lot of his acting was stifled by the script in this 2nd movie.

  • what is name of the movie??

  • @ARNSRV Ip Man 1

It's a very interessting and awesome movie

  • ces pas du kung fu ces de la boxe chinois

  • @Brock1812 I am a WC practioner and I have personally meet JKD folks and have been able to literally cross reference a good amount of moves. As for is it kung fu? well.. anything that a person devotes time and energy into is their own kung fu since that that is what the works means.

  • @Brock1812 I am a WC practioner and I have personally practiced w/JKD folks and have been able to literally cross reference a good amount of moves. As for is it kung fu? well.. anything, ie cooking, that a person devotes time and energy into is their own kung fu since that that is what the works means.

  • wat i always seem to notice is ppl always tell yur martial arts by style of techniqe but wat people need to learn is never go with yur fighting style martial arts techniqes are endless there are millions of way to attack and tons of ways to counter no move is invincible but it depend on the people learnings and trainings the wiser stronger fighter wins not the style but kung fu is bigger then other styles for a reason my explaination is wat most kung fu about

  • there not that slow in karate come on

  • @watching726005 no actually wing chun is so fast that it makes karate look slow

  • @octavianAgustus take anybody who has trained for speed in any martial art and i guarantee they'd make any other person who didn't train for speed look slow

  • 1:07 is epic

  • Wing Shun is a martial art developed specifically for women. It emphasizes speed over power.

  • Wing Shun is a martial art developed specifically for women. It emphasizes speed over power.

  • I was just wondering, is this some movie or just made like that short?

  • bruce lee fail!!!..XD

  • Now thats what I called Brutality o.O !

  • Ip Man was never forced from bourgeois idleness into work by the hardships of WW2 and never employed as a coolie in a colliery. He chose to work as a policeman before WW2 and continued until Communist disapproval of his wealth and political affiliations drove him into voluntary exile in Hong Kong. During the war, Ip Man did refuse to teach his martial arts to the military police which eventually forced him to flee Foshan and he certainly never had, let alone won, a duel with a Japanese general.

  • Kung fu is much better than karate. I'm not saying it from watching the Ip man movie. I'm saying from experience. Karate is more offense to it. Kung Fu has more defensice tactics. You know what they say: a great defense makes a good offense.

  • Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz Karate is better

    f****** show fight

  • @suss1223 The Kung fu is better, i use so many wepons and acrobatics

  • @suss1223 no because karate throws straight punches so they would dislocate their arm in a fight and karate is very agressive kung fu is all about dicipline i do wing chun and hung ga so i have experience fighting karate students

  • just swarm the bastard from all sides....

  • @jtayok this is based on bruce lees master only person who can beat bruce lee is his master yip man so thats would be impossible lol

  • @TheNinjacat10 You telling me that while he had that kid on the ground doing that wing chun crap at :48 they couldn't have tackled him?

  • This clip is from IP Man the storiy of Bruce Lee's Master. And this Kung Fu is Wing Chun.

  • wing chun vs karate... but i don't think this is possible...

  • wax on wax off vs. snatch the pebble from my hand

  • kung fu and brutal? no that isn't brutal it's for protect hisself

  • cazzo di film !!!

  • i dont get why there are still ppl who r saying that this is wing chun and not kung fu..

wing chun is a special form of kung fu and its written here in the comment like 1000 times.

either they can not read or theyre just stupid

  • @lildeptrai wing chun is basically a modern version of snake style

  • yeahhhhh ip man!

  • the was.......................... AWESOME

  • full ki energy

  • Ip man - Wing Chun

  • @SahuSaszka

    both

  • @gw2005

very true, I'm pretty much in favor of the whole war movie genre just kind of not happening anymore romanticizing real life historical events in which massive amounts of people died for one stupid reason or another is never going to be a good thing war is always horrible for everybody involved and everyone suffers when the occur.

  • the scary thing is i've seen someone do this in a fifteen vs one tournament twas very scary not as brutal though there was blood but no broken bones save one guys collar bone

  • Pefect!!!! the fatality starts at 0:00 ends a 2:03

  • kaboom!!

  • @etnie204

the man in black is using kung fu, and those young guys in white karate suits are obviously using karate

  • this form of Kung Fu is called Wing Chun (咏春 in Chinese), a very effective and absolutely devastating technique

  • I have studied a few different Martial Arts and Shorin Ken Karate works best for me. It does not matter what style you use, it matters how well the style fits your qualities. Any experience instructor/Master will tell you that it's the individual who makes the difference, not the style. Furthermore, Karate is in truth a style of Kung Fu if you want to get technical. The terminology changes only because the language changes. Who wins a fight comes down to who is better within that 1 sec.

  • @lamel80 as a great martial artist said years ago... there not such a thing like styles we all have two hands two legs, two arms... so its just about knowing how to used every part of your body

  • @lamel80 Martial arts is not just about fighting. It's an expression of one's self.

  • @lamel80 Exactly. There was a line in this film where Ip Man says: "It is not a question of the style you use, it is a question of you". The word Kung Fu is still misunderstood as it doesn't mean (or translates) as fighting. It essentially means to do whatever you do to the best of your ability, and it applies to everything, whether you're a teacher and teaching, a chef cooking, a doctor healing. It is an attitude that was part of chinese culture but is sadly disappearing.

  • DOUBLE TAP, TRIPLE-KILL, QUAD-KILL, ANNIHILATION, SAVAGE SICK, IMMORTAL!

  • asianboi thats the best example

  • .................movies.............hm.....

  • kung fu é o melhor do mundo!!!

  • OMFG what is name of this film

  • @SonGokuSjj3 the film is called Ip Man starring Donnie Yen. It is loosely based on the life if Ip Man, grand master of Wing Chun Kung Fu. GREAT movie. You can watch it for free if you search for it on youtube

  • @SonGokuSjj3 ip man

  • yeah ip man wing chun

  • Narly...sickening and kinda sad for poor karate students....(karate practitioner myself) KUNG FU DUDES FACE SCARED THE SH*T OUTTA ME.

  • wich is the name of film???

  • @amsagar

    Ip Man

  • @BafflinBook

Yes and had I come across a clip of that my comments would have been exactly the same save for being targeted at Japan instead of China.

  • Its Bruce`s master: Ye Wen

  • Man, Jackie Chan is so fucking cool!

  • @0oAccount123o0 he is not jackie chan

  • Wins not style . Master Wins.

  • This is madness ..........

  • @tvvenkatesh1

    madness?

    THIS IS SPARTA!!! xD

  • yeah this movie pissed me off, nationalistic ethnocentric tripe. It's only real purpose was to paint the Japanese in a bad light. Instead of actually focusing on the accomplishments of a truly skilled martial artist they made him out to be some kind of nationalistic super hero who single-handedly fought the tyranny of Japan and apparently did all kinds of crap he was not actually historically known for doing. About the only truth in this movie is where he lived and that he practiced wing chun

  • @majaimay There are also Movie like this done in reverse by Japanese.

  • @majaimay remove the word 'martial artist' and 'wing chun' and you just described every single war themed movie ever directed.

[[yeah this movie pissed me off, nationalistic ethnocentric tripe. • @majaimay a biographical representation of a person's should emphasize many different critical aspects. A movie you will take liberties for the sake of entertainment, even the best documentaries take some liberties.

Yip Man surviving through an invasion of his country where he must have watched many people pass on is a significant part of his life. That is the type of tragedy that would create and shape who is person is to become to say the least.

  • charlie hit me... and that REALLY hurts :D

  • what movie is that?

  • well this is realy good but i agree the one practice are the best but i realy like kung fu wing chun better

  • Long LIve kung fu

  • COMO SE LLAMA LA PELICULA?

  • @PAKOSLASH45 se llama "ip man"

  • its me at sparing like 9 v me

    me wins but less blood

  • I dont recall seeing this in the movie.....

  • wing chun is kung fu, theres different styles

  • It's not Kung Fu, it's Wing Chun

  • @NikeTao wing chun is kung fu..... kung fu have many styles, but wing chun is part of kung fu
