they probably never play it live because it has a sax in it, and it'd be kind of a pain in the ass to bring out a saxophone just for one song out of the whole set
Not everyone is going to get this. It's unique, therefore a minority will voice their opinions. That however does not make them retarded.(why do people still think that's ok?) Anyways, i love deerhunter and their last album Halcyon Digest was an emotionally moving piece of art that i enjoy very often. I have a feeling this will be something I never stop listening to. :)!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me the name of the song @ 12:00? The guitar break @13:10 is ridiculously beautiful and pure genius!
There is a similar riff on Halcyon Digest. The opening riff on track 6... Desire Lines? Something about the rapid succession of notes is just so infectious.
Thanks for keeeping it real, and playing from the heart. These boys are true artists.
@ThisGuyLikesToSkate Really nice. Good sound, good setlist, the band was full of energy, ver powerful set, it was a long time since I enjoyed a gig so much. Thanks Deerhunter!!!
Saw them on stage at the Shepherds Bush Empire here in London last Friday. One of the most incredible gigs ever. If 'indie' really means anything at all these days, then it means Deerhunter. Thanks to these guys, my ears and my heart are back in the game of 1974 Lou Reed, 1995 Radiohead and so on and so forth. Love ♥
@castillo555 Yeah apparently for the voice it's just a couple digitechs, reverb and delay. But the results are terrific! And I guess Radiohead took some notes about it recently :P
@bobbyprier No, but you can look up on youtube to find out how you can take youtube video's audio and put it on itunes er something. thats how i got this live version on my Ipod
saw these guys live in atlanta at the end of 2010 got to help set up the show and see them during sound check, it was like a private little preformance there were only like people in the room at that point....anhyway this band is rad, and the people in the band are even cooler, definitely a band that cares deeply about the music they make and one of the rare bands that can make a whole album of listenable material. They have an awesome sound and I hope they keep on progressing
@concretedonkey bradford uses a digitech digiverb on his voice to get that weird backwards reverb thing going, and a digitech digidelay, but thats set to looping mode, so he can loop little vocal riffs
does anybody know the name of the song at the beginning playing through the monitors as they set up? i heard it on the radio the other day and haven't been able to get it out of my head
I just saw them yesterday at a Free concert here in NYC on a pier on the Hudson River. Cloudy and cool sunset afternoon, smoking lots of herbs. Beautiful people around and great fucking music. Who could ask for more....Oh yeah, there is more, Real State, another awesome N.J. band opened for them. They'll be touring together. Great fucking show. I'm so totally into this band now....
i have 3 tickets to the Deerhunter show for this saturday 8/14 @ Pearl St. in Northampton, Ma. they cost ~20 each with processing fees but i will sell them for $15 each or best offer...post your email address if interested. cheers
@Jackstrider Haha, right! Why would you go to a Deerhunter video and telling people that "The Dear Hunter" is better? That would be like going to a Bryan Adams video telling everybody that Ryan Adams is better. No sense.
@Jackstrider Bradley Cox and Andrew Bird are artists. Members of the dear hunter are some guys who got guitars for their birthday and decided to form an emo band.
@blotchy67 u wish. Dear Hunter is the greatest to happen since hitler killed all the jews. ppl who listen to andrew bird are just pretentious dick lickers tryin to stay on top of the hipster curve
