What us the point of videos where cars are racing 600's and 750's? No offense, but if it isn't at least a liter bike then straight line racing is not what it's gonna be good at. My daily driver is an '08 turbo Busa and I know damn well there are some killer liter bikes that will beat me but never once been even worried of 750 or smaller. A ZX10 is what I was gonna get before my Busa but it was simply comfort that made that decision for me
i had a 06 zx10 and 2 bikes later now have a 06 gsxr750. i like my 750 the best of all my bikes but it cant compare at all in a dragrace versus a zx10. that ninja is the fastest bike ive ever owned and ridden
@ineedboostbad I am a current owner of an 05 zx10, my little beautiful titanium bike with a -2 tooth rear sprocket and secondary buttflies removed, will pull all day like that on black gsxr 750s with akra shorty and a power commander only for the exhaust, GREAT VIDEO SHOWS ANOTHER KAWI WIN!
@Silverimp9 i have to agree with you.. up to 124mph isn`t that big of a difference.. i was just at a circiut and the straight was just 580meter and the touh reach 130mph on the speedo and 750cc 124mph. remember we could only accelerate for 300meter before we hit the brake...but still a 750cc have almost the same acceleration up to 124mph.. but it looked like the driver of the 750 was caught a bit on the bed or the car was starting a bit to soon...
@Silverimp9 you hit everything i was bout to say dead on. these bike vs car videos are a fucking joke, 99% of the time the person on the bike is a idiot. this dumb ass for instance didnt even down shift. the zx10 shows you what a bike driven the proper way can do to a car. that 750 should of been right on his ass
Technically a shift on a motorcycle is smoother shifting without the clutch. When you ride you can hear how the gears engage. This is a topic that has actually been discussed thousands of times. But is still debateable.
come on! the '06 and '07 zx10R are the ugliest model's ever made. the '04 and '05 are the best looking bikes, coupled with the fact they push out to over 160kmh in first gear, they are awesome track bikes (just need steering dampers).
10r will destroy pretty much anything litre and under in a line.. they are top end monstas. A 750 will be very similar till around 200k when the 10r has stopped wheelieing, then it's all over rover. Eg.. drag strip, my mates gix750 got a better start in one race, about 10m ahead, last 150m or so I absolutely blew past, big speed difference. Race cams and other bits helped though d;
The new one is damned impressive. We'll see what it does against the new Gixxer, the 05 and 07s had a pretty big acceleration advantage on the ZX. The 07 Gixxer is silly on top end, you should try one or try the new 10 which is supposedly putting out 170hp to the wheel.
Tried the K7 thou twice now, 52k and 450k on the clock respectively, felt a bit tame and not as fast as mine but you can never compare stock to modded, plus needed a bit more running in. It was fine otherwise! I'm waiting for the 08 ten..see how it is. Heard comments that its arse end sticks very well :) 200hp crank w/ram air paper figures I'd doubt though.
well yeah!! you do use the clutch to shift... else you will mess the gear box up still NICE ZX10 mine has 171hp to the wheel. they are wheelie perfect. mine ran 9.42 @151 in the 1/4
i have been riding for 16 years. i think i know a thing or 2. your right though. but i think its sadter to clutch it. but hey! ill try that method out later. should be out getting a few races =)
I race in VRRA, and every upshift is clutchless. I use the clutch to feather the rear out on downshifts into corners. What you want to do is prime the shifter on upshifts, just load it a little bit with your boot, when you snap the throttle back, you click the next gear in.
750 gsxrs are ok up to about 130mph then they start falling off.. they make great canyon bikes thow a lot more managable power than my zx10r. but at 130mph id still b in 3rd gear at around 10k rpm redline starts at 13 with full akropovic evolution pipe, power commander, velocity stacks, air filter, and ivans tre the revlimiter is set at 14k on mine... i still think the gsxr rider wasnt too great thow he should have still beat the car
OK so you're saying I am too stupid to know the difference after 50,000 miles of owning a litre bike. Nice thinking. I wonder if you could tell that to my friend with a CBR 1000RR who can never shake me on the 750, so he knows too.
440lbs with fuel. With a 200lb rider in gear. Consider gearing for a higher RPM motor... now work the difference out... not as large as you think, dude. Yes the litre bikes have more power and particularly more torque down low, but they're also geared to do over 100mph in first gear. It's not that simple.
170mph is pretty good, but you're right, the litre bikes really start to show their power over 130mph and accelerate hard all the way to about 170, where they start to gain a bit slower (still quickly, though).
Yeah, that 10R isn't *that* much faster than the 750 once you tach up the 750 right. I mean, I have had both (have the 750 right now) and the litre bikes are MEAN but the 750 has 150hp vs about 180hp. It's not that dramatic.
yes it is,my 1962 bike has about 18-20 hp i can beat 50-80 hp cars on acceleration from low speeds.. for a while..and weight is very important on a bike, for ex a passenger would kill the power to weight ration on a bike but it won't be that dramatic if talking cars
Then race them together, on anything but a really large track, the 750 will probably be faster, mostly because the "regular joe" rider can get more out of it. Like I said, I have owned three litre bikes (in fact, I own one now plus two 750s) and they really are not that much quicker until you are going 130mph+ Ask my friend with an 05 Repsol 1000RR, he can't pull any distance on me at all until we're doing nearly 150mph.

He's right, a zx10 won't pull that hard at that low of a speed against a 750. It was obviously an unconfident/ unexperienced rider on the 750.
Morginie 1 year ago
Chalk this one up to rider error!
1. Sounds like his rpm were too low
2. look at his tuck, it's terrible... i'm 6'1 and when i tuck on my 750 i'm damn near under the wind screen
3. The zx10 is a beast of a bike but they wont run away from a 750 that much starting @ 60 mph. LOL
PUT A BETTER RIDER ON THAT 750 AND IT WILL BE WAY DIFFERENT.... THAT'S STILL A BAD ASS CAR THOUGH!
Silverimp9 2 years ago 5
Um the video clearly shows the common knowledge that a zx10 will stomp all over a 750, esp from a roll.

@Silverimp9 Your an Idiot. The zx10 is best from a roll... I have owned both and the ZX10 is MUCH faster.

@Silverimp9 Chalk it up to every single video of a car beating a bike some squid talking about how it was rider error.
Newsflash!!! Cars can be faster than bikes.

Wrong. When racing do not use the clutch. Obviously you do not know how to ride. Works similar to the way an air shifter works. Clutchless upshift.
