Stumbled upon your channel today and I think you are really good at this comedic vlogging thing :D Keep 'em coming ^_^ *subscribes*
Also, I read on your blog that you're in the spot of looking for a job, and I think I can imagine the stress, so I send you my sympathy :) You can do it!
From one grammar Nazi to another, I concur wholeheartedly with what you stated in this video. I drive my friends and family mad whenever I correct their grammatical mistakes or misspelled words, but I only do it because THEY drove ME mad in the first place!
but regardless of my previous statement, obviously if someone types out a whole other word than the one they ment to type, then it goes into the realm of confusing (but lets be realistic, it rarely rarely happens) oh and your video was absolutley charming. defiant girl is absolutley charming. and i mean to force no negativity onto anyone. i'm merely performing an observation. you beautiful charming girl.
grammer nazis are raping there own cause. language is for communication, and aslong as the message behind the words gets communicated, then it matters not about spelling or grammer, and if it does matter to you, then your being anal, and you must stop, because it's like an anal little dog chasing his anal little tail. your worrying about fabrication when you should be worrying about communication. its not how they say it, it's what there saying. fuk kurrekt spelinn.
@kyle2point *their, *as long, *grammar, *you're, *You're, *It's, *they're, *Fuck, *correct, *spelling. How do you like me now? In all seriousness, I do agree with most of what you said. On one side, you should try to take the words for their meaning rather than correct usage. But on the other end, language is nevertheless a tool that deserves to be respected. And, the people that are reading what you have to say will respect you exponentially more if you take it as seriously as they do.
@BigTuna1994 lolllllll i knew them corrections were coming. and yea totally i know it's just as much a respectable art as any other, but some people are good at it and some people are bad at it. i don't take the people with less education less seriously than people with more education. we're all fucked up divine monkeys at the end of the day. if it takes perfect grammer and spelling for someone to take me seriously then i don't really want/need that persons respect.
@BigTuna1994 i appreciate that! it's not often internet convos come to a peaceful conclusion. i bet 7million internet yen that your a fantastic person. keep it up :) one love. xxxx
@gemllama my spelling pet peeve is the word "weird" when people spell it "wierd" My friend does it and she says: "Ann, its "I" before "E" except after "C" and I don't see a "C" in that word."
What really pisses me off is when people confuse Generally with Genuinely, it happens so much in the scum hole I live in, I mean, HOW IN GODS NAME CAN YOU CONFUSE THOSE TWO
This is fantastic. It took me so long to learn how to correctly spell definitely. For a while, I convinced myself that definately was the correct spelling ... and that's not even a word.
I've noticed that error a few times myself. Instead of getting peeved, I chuckle to myself at how stupid they are. Defiantly is not a typo for definitely. It is just plain bad spelling. Defintiley would be a typo. Usually, I tactfully ignore such crass mistakes.
You don't look like any cartoon character! You look like girl version of a Scout from Team Fortress 2 :D (that is what I thought you were in the thumbnail actually).
I know how to use words properly, but its not uncommon for me to misspell them. I know the diference between their there & they're but I usually end up spelling their as thier. WHY IS IT NOT I BEFORE E!!!
I've never noticed people using defiantly instead of definitely, but that defiantly girl is quite awesome. Though looking like a cartoon character isn't always a bad thing, some people do it on purpose (at conventions its called cosplaying; it can also be done for book & video game characters)
@shessomickey I can't believe you weren't already subscribed to gemllama! You and she are two of my top favorite You Tubers! I naturally thought you would be fans of each other!
I like this video a lot. I can't think of anything else to say, but I wanted to say it. Also, I think I will be injecting more defiance in my day-to-day life now.
Based on the thumbnail for this video, I thought you were going to rap about the misspelling and/or the mis-usage of words haha. I still enjoyed the video nonetheless:)
@DaphLife YES IT MOST CERTAINLY IS! My friend @IJethrobot gave it to me recently, because I'm a big Wallace & Gromit fan. He got it in Europe somewhere...the tag on it says "Shaun das Schaf!"
@gemllama Oh no! I have never been to Europe! Sad heart. :'( Please feature Shaun the Sheep in future videos. lol My husband and I discovered it last year (Timmy is my favourite!), and I bought a DVD of it for my niece and nephew for Christmas. It is apparently viewed in their household quite often. lol And now I shall have his theme song pleasantly stuck in my head for the rest of the day. I defiantly thank you! THANK YOU... damnit!
