  • My husband is Cherokee and Choctaw. His sisters taught me how to make fry bread. I use 2 cups of flour mixed with a teaspoon salt and a teaspoon sugar. I get a cup of warm water in a measuring cup and put in one package of the quick rise yeast. When it is dissolved, I mix it with the flour and add a couple of tablespoons of oil. I add water or flour to get good dough consistency. I let sit for about 30 minutes and then I shape and fry in oil. They always turn out really good.
