I noticed that during every video of "I love it loud" that Paul "plays" the solo. Is this because Ace didn't want to pretend to play Vinnie's (or anyone else's) solo???

@doublepenetr8or Paul DID NOT play the solo of this song in the studio. It was Vinnie Vincent. It's not that Ace didn't want to play it. He didn't know the song since he didn't even play on the record, if you watch other vids from the Euro promo tour of Creatures, he just kind of goes through the motions, and you can tell he's totally unfamiliar with the material.

@doublepenetr8or Actually Ace didn't even record on the record. They just brought him along to make their label think he was still in the band. You can see in a lot of footage from the Creatures promo tour that he has no idea how to mimic the songs.

I heard that Ace never played a note on Creatures. If this is true why is he doing this and the music video for that song?

@Abnerbeast54 His contract hadn't ran out so he had to promote the album even though he'd left the band

@Abnerbeast54 That is true. Ace was actually out of KISS during the recording of Creatures. They brought him along to kind of "fool" their record company into thinking he was still in the band. 2 years before, the record deal they signed strictly stated that in order for the deal to be in place, Ace, Paul, And Gene had to be in the band. Peter had already left and Eric Carr was just a hired gun. His departure cost P&G A LOT of money and they had re-negotiate their contract.

They were lucky they even had the option to re-negotiate the contract at. Given the band's plummeting record sales, it was doubtful if any new label would sign them. They were lucky.

@ma7799 Yes they were very lucky. The label actually were going to take them to court for breach of contract. So they negotiated a contract for less money then they were offered before. I don't think The Elder helped them either.
