Dudes, celtic and german tribes arent the same. the celts were never in italy, the german tribes did. and the celtic tribes didnt live all over europa - germany for example was inhabited by the german tribes.

In fact a big part of Gaius Julius Caesar's armies that fought and won the Gaul Wars was recruited in Cisalpian Gaul and spoke (roughly) the same language as the people they fought against.

@LudwigVaanArthans Actually Wikipedia has some solid info if you look at the sources. You just gotta know what sources are credible. And Celts did live in Northern Italy in the Po River Valley. But the rest of Italy was inhabited by Italic peoples and some Greek colonies. Rome was a city-state of the Italic people called the Latins that rose to power and soon conquered all the Italic peoples first. And then we all know the story from there :P
