Oh yeah! The Cygnus, I remember now, cool design. And that movie had the coolest robot ever, I was thrilled cause he was called Vincent. Lol!

This sums up why I hate stupid ,glossy computer effects CG!!! This is so much better ,solid and real!! This is one of the greatest moments in sciFi movies.You have to hear and feel the rumbling of the mother ship through a good hiFi stereo with lots of bass to get the full effect of this!

What can I say guys. This film is undoubtedly classic!!! Great & intriguing storyline, great acting and visual effects. Steven Spielberg is master. Richard Dreyfuss and Melinda Dillon did a great job as well. Our modern SCI-FI is trash compared to such classical movies like this one.

i went to the udvar hazy center today to see this thing up close what i discovered that nobody else seems to have noticed is that there is also a tie fighter on the end of one of the antennas, also there's 2 planes not 1.

if you look closely, at the 7-8 second mark, you can see R2DR hanging upsidedown, attached to the bottom of the ship. Totally hilarious that Speilberg threw that in.

well, lucas and speilberg nearly always refrence eachothers work. e.t for example, feature a yoda costume, starwars action figures and yodas theme thrown in by john williams, while e.t's race, Children of the Green Planet, is a part of the Star Wars expanded universe. an e.t ambassador makes a brief appeearance in either attack of the clones or revenge of the sith (not sure where)
