OMG!!! You are so RIGHT!!! i just got out doing 7 years in the US ARMY as an 11Bravo. I went to IRAQ 2 times...and working right now is hard to find. But i have faith something good will come my way. Thanks for the video brother.
I was in the AF for 3 years (07-10). I love being out. I'm going to school full-time and love it, about to start my 3rd semester tomorrow actually. I wasn't one for the military, hated every second of it, but it taught me to respect myself and others.
@Khemistry101 Yeah....things are alright. I'm in college with all them young ass kids; surviving off of disability and G.I. Bill Money. It could be worse I guess. Its only a matter of time now, before I get money.
Im considering going to the Navy to make a better future for my fiance and my unborn baby... Would you recomend that? Also iWanted to know is the money you make while in the navy enough to get a home loan after four years?
That is a good plan. Just hopefully you dont pick a rate where you are constantly in Iraq. The money you make is OK, once you pick up rank. As far as getting a home loan goes......You can get that handled through either the VA programs, or through Navy Federal Credit Union.
Thanks this video gave me a little more insight as to what iNeeded to know im trying to make it man... Im only 19 straight out the hood Eastside Long Beach and there aren't too many niggaz thinkin the way i do. And another reason is because im trying to get out of here before iEnd up fucking up me and my girls life.
Yo.. I really appreciate this video.. You remind me of myself and I'm only 22. I been thinkin about gettin out my enlistment is up next year. I'm from the hood will never go back and I want to go to school. How are things going for you now? You think its smart to get out now with the economy. I hope you post more man it really helps
Thanks for the compliment man. I know the economy is fucked up, but if I kept being worried about that, I would've never got out. Disability is where I want it now, so I'm straight; plus the G.I. Bill living money. I just gotta stay on the grind with this college. Eventually you gotta get out, but do it when you are ready. Good luck on that man.
Yep, I did 7 years. I'm getting disability and thats it. I got out the Navy for a few reasons; 1. Because they kept shipping me back and forth to Iraq, and I couldn't really advance. 2. Because I didn't wanna be one of the guys that did 20 years and be a door greeter at wal-mart. and 3. I figure I get out relatively young, and have a clean slate to start a future without being too old to startover.
so the navy life is not as great as it seems. cus things are messed up right now its hard to find a job and my mom trying to send me to the navy if i dont find a job but at first the navy seemed cool than i got scared and pumped the brakes so now idk what to do.
Its nothing wrong with joining the Navy, if you have a plan. For example, you owe them 8 years overall. The commercial doesn't tell u that. They tell u 4 years is an enlistment term, but the small print says 4 ACTIVE and the remainder is INACTIVE. Joining does have alot of benefits though.

@NParker87 Thats whats up. I guess every experience is different, but at least you learned something while you were enlisted.

Sound advice. I got out back in 2002, before the economy went south. And it was a transition, because was a gung-ho NCO! Preparation is the key.

Most people usually dont. It depends on what rate you pick; like HM, DT, RT, or Seabee.
