7 years is actually a god damn long time. If your gunna change (to not try and kill people!), your gunna change within 7 years, if not immediately. People dont just become murderers, he tried to commit suicide...what does that tell you? Other sentences for other 'wrong doings' such as drug possession need to be none existent.
