Awesome! I need to do that to my wife's car. She smashed out a light which was later replaced. Now she has one really good looking headlight and one that looks like crap.
Wow, great idea!!!! i wish i tried that on my Jeep before new headlights, does that procedure last? The light assembly i got on ebay pretty cheap but i do have a buffer and polishing compound and that seemed quick
@zerodegrees8 Depends on your buff job and what you're seeing. If you're filling with compound or wax that will weather off and the dust in the rain will deposit (especially on a roof of hood) If you're cutting through material to remove the scratch completely then there is no scratch to hold dust.
@Naturalhit Try the 2200 grit first and if it's taking too long for you then you can do as you see fit. Using a rag is fine- it just tends to make your muscles bigger though.
@briansmobile1 dude I fucked my shit up. I used the wrong sandpaper number I think I use 80 grit.... I scratch the shit out of one of my headlights. LOL. Now i learned I was suppose to use 2500... Now they told me im going to haver to use 800, 1500, 2500 to remove the scratches, and also get it clean. ;(
Another great Vid man. Thanx for this tip. I had no idea this was fixable. My ass bought brand new headlights instead. haha. I know alot of people with yellow gunk on their headlight tho. thanx again
@aquario209 I usually find something extra to throw in for a customer. On this car I did an oil pan gasket and headlight resurfacing no charge. I was raised to go the extra mile.

i'm curious, when i buff my car after a couple rain falls the scraths reappear, so i'm assuming it will with the head lights?

Mine on my Altima is really bad. There's even line scratches on there. SHould I go for 1500 then to 2200?
Can I use a rag? I don't have an orbital. Thanks

That's a nice and effective touch up. Do you charge customers to polish headlights or do you just do it complimentary?

if someone doesn't have a buffer or compound they can do it by hand with a damp cloth & tooth paste (Crest with tarter control) works good
