this is the opposite of what aung san suu kyi wants. if the people really do rise up violently and overthrow the government, it might seem good in the short term, but if you think of it in the long run it will be actually worse. for example, if the government is truly overthrown using violence, there will be a power void, and to compound troubles, people will be left with weapons in a lawless country. not only that, but if someone wants to take power violently, history could repeat itself again.

I completely agree with you kusoqiao. It's difficult to achieve democracy, and some people are frustrated because they haven't seen any changes in Burma. But the blame does NOT lie on Suu. She is doing her best to ensure the people of Burma receive food. She is allowing herself to be placed under house arrest in hopes of gaining international attention - which she has achieved successfully so far. People all around the world, now know of Burma's plight and are doing their best to help.

Then again, there is no such thing as a small part. I think Ma Suu would easily say that a young boy that would run little errands for a member of the National League for Democracy is quite equal to her great sacrifices for her nation. Democracy cannot be ever accomplished totally.
