  • two times best for fishin... when it's rainin and when it's not rainin

  • 16 years ago lol

  • ...Very simply, and well put ,instructional.

  • I was gonna say i know that aint where i live lol, here in northeast Ohio that lake would be frozen about 4 or 5 feet deep in december. The only that sucks about living here, we can only do icefishing in the winter which i do not enjoy as much.

  • i fish the james river in va just south of richmond and ill tell ya just get a good trebble hook and put 2 earth worms on it. and let it rip. here the norm size is about 4-6 pounds but with worms i have caught a few over 15-20 pounds. i dont use anything else. the bigger ones are in rivers inside the channel. they seem to like the faster flowing water and i catch 2-3 times more in winter than anyother time. but thats just me

  • Win a free guided trip with The American Catter Its easy contact me for the info

  • So you basically make Whiskey water and sling it out into the desired fishing location???

I also love that where ya said "The water is wet and its a good day to go fishing"

    Sounds like me.

I always coming up with sayings like that.

I've actually took sticks and broke holes in a lil lake cause we drove for about an hour to a frozen lake.

Also using road kill and a 5 gallon bucket or a potatoe sack with a few rocks and a good smelly possum works good, just tie a rope to it and sink it

  • does the chum work in rivers an ponds??

  • Great video... thanks for the tips.

  • nice fish dude .. .an thanks for the chummin tips .. i use a couple diffrent things in my chums when i get my vids up check them out an see what ya think

  • brilliant, i have always used chums for salt water fishing maybe that is what i need to do to catch some cats instead of just throwing out a line with bait on it. any tips on how to catch some large mouth bass particularly on lake Conroe or Livingston?

  • nice tips

  • can you use regler corn

  • Well DEER CORN (Is) regular corn. Get it at Academy, Bass pro, Wal-Mart... Any Feed Store.

  • I have heard and am going to try this year that if you allow cake to go bad in a covered bucket till you get that alcohol smell, and also if you take chicken parts in a jar with the top closed off , let it go bad for a week, those are 2 good home made chums to use that really work.

  • wow, that was in 1994

  • can you make a video of you trying to fish for 24 hours without sleeping i am just kidding but yea good fishing

  • it was good i learned from it and people will learn.

  • Nice cats.

    My cat rig:

    Shimano Tekota 500

    Team Catfish 3/4 ton rod

    80 lb. PowerPro Braid

60 lb. mono or fluorocarbon leader

8/0 to 12/0 circle or kahle hook

Bait: cut gizzard shad the size of my hand

    Handles big blues easy.

  • hows that bait catser work for ya?

  • That was a good day of fishing,Also try Shad heads they work very well.

  • cool vid man, im gonna try that chum out, thanks

  • After a while they all stat coming in and going nuts. The thing is i can't catch any catfish over 2lbs. I don't even see them.

I can catch the 15 pound carp but no big cats. I really really want to start catching some 5+ pounders. I need some help. I just bought some Disgusting smelling stink bait and NADA. I have been using raw shrimp and night crawler worms to catch most of my fish. Can someone please tell me how or when or what to use to catch some of the big boys.

  • Rig yourself up with: Chicken liver, #4 hook, 2 tiny pinch on weights, and a large sliding weight.

I recommend 3 or more poles.

Place 1 tiny weight about 10 inches from the hook as a stopper for the large sliding weight and another little stopper weight 10 inches from the other tiny weight.

Find a good spot, and lightly chum with lightly smashed liver in about a 10 foot area then wait a few minuets, cast your lines out and tighten them so you will see any vibrations and pole tugs.

  • Then just sit back and smoke a joint (optional), just make sure to pay attention to your poles.

I generally catch channel cats between 2 to 13 pounds.

  • Make sure you are pinching the tails off your shrimp....The catfish are eating them because they think they are crawfish and the tail throws them off sometimes. I'd also try tipping the hook with leaches. The added movement usually tends to attract bigger fish. Let me know if this works for you.

  • Thanks Steele and locusts. I look forward to catching some monsters. I appreciate the tips.

I gotta get a camcorder to record my adventures. Any tips on keeping the livers on the hook?

  • I know you posted your question about 7 months ago but the answer may help you and others....

I hate to be so blunt but... You're fishing for small catfish is why you're catching them.

Change your hook to something larger than a 1/0

Change your bait to a 3"-5" bait fish (Perch) scale it and cut off the head, tail & fins and use that on at least 15 Lb test line carolina rigged on the bottom. like this

    hook--16"--swivel--bead--3/4 oz wt----line---

    **Phart** "Manuel Z"

  • is a trble hook better than a normal hook?

  • @PHARTATACK i caught 8 lb blue and 7 lb chaneel with a 1o hook. but thanks for the tips man. do you sugest circle hook or not?

  • i know somebody has already answered your question but i didnt feel the answer was completely right you can use the baits you mentioned above for big fish but remember this one thing if you are catching small fish find anouther spot because if the small ones are there them the big ones arnt small fish wont hang around with the larger fish for fear of being eaten try diffrent spots shallow deep in or around cover dont be afraid to experiment with new locations

  • @jurassicsushi big hook and big cut bait or whole worm

  • i am going to post more than 1 comment, because this might take a minute.

1st' I am fishing on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, Georgia. I am fishing from the shore because I don't have a boat.

What I did was initially I tied up a Black tube that has holes down through it to my aunts old dock which sits about 6ft out into the water. I filled it with "Purina Game Fish Feed". Now I must admit It attracts a piss load of small catfish and BIG Monster carp which i gave a blast catching as well.

  • does cinnamon work in chum?someone plz reply fast!

  • Nice catties

  • I Thought it was great go kill the cats

  • Very cool!

Thank you for the info, and nice fish!

Was the date off on the camera, or was that really 14 years ago?

  • Yup 14 yrs ago and it was recorded on a BIG VHS camera.

  • looks like u got u some nice eaters there

  • this was filmed on my birthday i turned "1" that day

  • WOW you caught captive hand fed 15 pounders... I wouldn't brag.

do you fish in your aquarium too?

  • lol.. no shit it isn't hard to catch em in ponds(publixhater)!! good vid

  • Just seeing your videoa for the first time Manuel, hope to see you on the lake!

  • Nice cats.....what lake is this?

  • Braunig lake, texas

  • How would you chum running water, like the rio grande, can u put the shit like in a burlap sack to keep it from going all over the river?? I also heard putting holes in a can of dogfood works also, any comments?? Ever tried Danny kings punch bait??

  • My dad and I have only used the Danny Kings bait once and it didn't really work that good for us. We ended up catching more bass on it than catfish and the cats that we did catch were only like 1 lbs. I would use baits like cut or whole dead shad, live perch, etc. Most of the time your bigger sized fish won't hit "fake" bait but they will hit "natural" bait.

  • I've done both, but the sack had cheap dry dogfood in it. also tuna cans poked with an ice pick or screwdriver.

  • man i left of this chum in my backyard for like a month and it stank so bad when i opened it up!this stuff will make u gag!lol!thanks thuogh for the info!

  • hey good tips my friend.. im a rookie so im watching alot of these vids to give me ahelping hand .. very informative ... i want to fish with a jig head while my stronger rod sits still looking for cats ... that chumming part is awesome..

    thanks

  • hey a tip for keeping fish alive on the stringer, only try this with catfish cus if u do it with other fish it wil probably kill them instead of keeping them alive longer, but wen u put them on the stringer put the rope threw the lower lip just push it thru the skin, if u put it threw the gills wen they are in the water they thrash around and the stringer tears up their gills and makes it hard for them to get oxygen out of the water

  • nice fish

  • great info i've been wanting to go catfishing this will help a ton.

  • ha hahahaha i always laught when he goes aint nothing but a thang ........ chicken liver mmmmmmhmmmmmm
