I've been to India 3 times and can't believe how it is different every time. Women of my generation (40s) have gone from Saris to Courtas to Jeans, in the cities. The air is cleaner in Delhi. There are more cars on the roads. Fixe prices are appearing everywhere. And Indians who live in America stick out like sore thumbs in the market places (I'm a gori and I can spot them!). There are less power outages in the villages. You can reserve train tickets ahead of time.
I had the hardest time finding an Indian Flag! I searched on Gerrard Stret(Toronto)during a Festival, went to another Indian festival in town and even searched in India. How fustrating. I finally found one at "King of Flags" on Spadina (Toronto) for $10. Hurray!
I understand that they are only available in India for officials and Gov't Bldg and Vande Mataram videos. Ha! Ha! Ha!
I added this to my playlist months ago and I am surprised everytime that I play it, either for me or our children, at how few people have viewed it on YouTube.
Honestly, even expat Indians here have double standards in that they say they are Indians but within the same breath utter their disgust about things back home. Yes, there would most naturally be disgusting people and bad apples all over the world, but that is just that. If there are people who really and truly understand that its a Mother, then there'd be more moral obligations.
Would I be able to be the one in that video? Yes. Could I do better? Probably. Could I have more drive, and drive the message across? Probably too. Would I have that impact comparatively? No. I'm not Amitabh. But his message is good for those who genuinely wish to see a stronger India. I'm Singaporean born and bred, but on 15th August, and I too wish to see India further ahead.
Seems more like India vs. Pakistan. I hope that Pakistani nutjobs are not coming over along with their barbaric terrorist idealogy. Can someone enlighten me about "the other India"? Or perhaps we need a remake of this video with a "One-India" plan of action. :-)
anyways vikram, the guy who posted the vidoe, where did you get this vid from?? i want to use it for a presentation on 'opportunities in india' and want to make sure if there is a copyright or not on it. thanks so much
haha all this religion talk makes me laugh. and india is for hindus not for muslims is just so "profound" and "intelligent"
anyways if the video is about anything its about urging the indians to bring themselves into the current trend of globalization and through that bring india forward. except that there are some indians who are still skeptical of this(which isnt a bad thing) because of the negative points of globalization like developed countries making use of developg ctries like india.
There is also a public India and a private India. The public India is proper where the private India is much more Western than most outside of India realize.
I don't get it. What are the two Indias? Rich vs poor? Educated vs uneducated? Hindu vs everyone else? Brahmin vs everyone else? Westernized Indians vs stuck-in-the-past Indians?
I reall ydon't know what this guy is talking about. And what's the symbolism of the bridge that goes nowhere? I too have been to India, and its problems are vast and overwhelming, most of them rooted in the Hindu worldview. And the muslims are a hostile lot.
Please do not do this categorization by religion or wealth, every one has two sides two him {optimist & skeptic}, every family has every town has every state has every country has. Only now he says we have more optimist than skeptic... and succeeding in their ventures. Be an entrepreneur or give your 100% to a one, that what I feel is the need of the hour.
Marsh: U r an fool. He is talking of confidence vs proectionist ideology. Where does caste and religion come into the picture...he is just asking us to be confident and motivating us to work harder so that we can uplift millions of our brothers and sisters from poverty and take India to the heights our forefathers had envisioned.
Davij, since you're only 14 years old I will go easy on you. I am a white Christian American, not Pakistani as you immediately concluded. I went to India 3 times on a project with the US State Department. I am glad you are proud of your country. Stay in school, Davij, you've got lots to learn besides how to swear in English.
stfu why didnt u say it to my face like comment or email bitch i swearing in english because u dont know my language piece of junk u dumbass probally went to some villages that true 2/3 of india has farming kind of land but 1/3 is still modern cities where i live like new delhi, goa, gurgaon, mumbai, dheradhun and like a lot more
Davij I went to New Delhi, Bhopal and Indore, plus some villages. Fortunately, the only Indians I met were, unlike you, courteous and polite and eager to improve their country. You are a very poor diplomat for India. Clean up your language.
firstly symbolism is something we are born with, to the un initiated that unfinished bridge depicts bears a negative image, but as a matter of fact, that is the bandra worli sealink bridge, a tech miracle of a sort due to the kind of soggy land it is being built on. And proudly every tech there is indigenous. that's what a Hindu sees, bro. we are born into a world with dualism. and by the way Hindu is not a religion, its a way of life.
he's talking shit..........i jus got back from india on hoilday......im punjabi born and rised in england.................theres two sides to india which i noiced the poor and the rich.........................................................fuck this guy , he should be gay instead
brother he is indian and india has place for anyone no matter who ur god is we as indians invite anyone whoz willing to be a true indian work hard and represent ur nation bole so nihal and jai hind
cut the crap dude.. if u love ur nation, u love ur compatriots as well. just be proud for the fact that we are secular, not a islamic, hindu or a country with state poking into religion.
