  • This exercise is more functional than a bench press, for the entire population, except people training exclusively for the bench press in power lifting competitions. This movement translates 100% to the pushing movements that all athletes and all people use on a daily basis from a standing position, unlike the bench press where your shoulders and back are anchored and supported. As far as functionality goes, this movement is second only to one arm pushups.
