Ok Fine you want to play that game? How about answering this, Why do you follow a faith that was started by a HUMAN? Not JESUS or the FATHER or even the HOLY GHOST,But Man. Your fake faith has only existed for 493 years where as the catholic faith goes back to JESUS HIMself. I know that Catholicisim is the true faith and you have proven that already.
@4everjesusrules The only one playing games is you & the fake "jesus" & "church" you believe in. As far as early Christian Church history goes you have deluded yourself here as well. You fail to realize that we have done our research & you have not. Check out our online video entitled, EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH HISTORY PROVES ROMAN CATHOLICISM FALSE on VIMEO VIDEO (once on their homepage type LARRY WESSELS in their search box & look for it). Our website HISTORYCART COM also refutes your claims.
@CAnswersTV You have actually proven my point,You follow the words and research of mere human Beings,Where as my research comes from the only true resource and that is in the Holy Bible, So my research is complete and your ignorance verifies the true church, As JESUS said that they hated Him before we were hated,
@4everjesusrules You're an idiot, thank you very much! You made this ridiculous comment in response to our reply within 53 minutes of our posting our reply on YOUTUBE. There is no way you could have watched our 2 hour video posted on VIMEO VIDEO concerning early Christian Church history or reviewed our entire website on the same subject within that amount of time. Basically you're saying, "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!" Your claim about knowing the Bible is false also.
Who wrote the Gospels? Who was the closest with Jesus? Wouldn't you think the people closest to Jesus while he was alive would know how to continue on with his teachings? Who were these people did each one of them have bibles or did they teach by word of mouth? Was the first Christians in 32 AD walking around with bibles? These are questions that these 3 should be debating over.
@sirbread1 If you carefully analyze this debate you should notice that the Monsignor does not have a high regard for what the Bible actually teaches. He is more concerned with his own personal opinions rather than what the Bible teaches. The Gospels were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. John was the closest. 2 Peter 3:16 answers your question as does our site HISTORYCART COM on early Christian church history.
@GodTowardSociety Have you been watching the news lately? Does a homosexual sit in the chair of Peter? "Pope" Benedict XVI will take no action against any of the thousands of homosexual Roman Catholic priests & bishops across the world who have been abusing children & costing the Romanist cult billions of dollars in lawsuits. Is it comforting for you to know that the money you give to Rome defends pediphiles?
You're wrong as "GodTowardSociety" since you are the one who is "pridefull" about your "True faith" & thus you "Judge" us slanderously. You are BLIND to what is going on here & unfortunately you can't understand it or know it (1 Corinthians 2:14) since you do not know the Word of God for yourself. If you had been supernaturally born again by a sovereign act of the Holy Spirit (& we're not talking about water baptism as your false cult teaches) you would have learned the Word of God long ago.
@GodTowardSociety You're a very JUDGEMENTAL (mine is spelled correctly unlike yours) person. Have you never read Matthew chapter 7 (& I'm not just talking about the first verse but the WHOLE chapter)? Christians are commanded to JUDGE but with RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT based on what the Bible says (2 Timothy 3:15-17). Have you never read what 1 Corinthians 2:15-16 says? It says, "But he that is spiritual JUDGETH ALL THINGS, yet he himself is JUDGED of no man." You must be Biblically illiterate.
Wow! the priest says he is not limited to what is taught in the Bible.Unreal! If you study his body language he is squirming in his chair, not at all comfortable w/the questions or answers he can't answer. He quotes no scripture, just talks in general terms. He says it's His belief, but, cannot substantiate his opinion. Again,Why would he agree on a debate?
I appreciate your excellent analysis estelle715 since you are noticing EXACTLY what we hoped all of the viewers of this video would notice. The diocese of Austin, Texas sent the Monsignor in for this debate but what is obvious is that they did not anticipate the intense theological or doctrinal nature of it thus exposing their spokesman. It is fair to say that this monsignor represents the spiritual level of most Roman Catholic priests because Romanism is a SYSTEM not dependant on Scripture.
@estelle715 yeah, of course he is beginning to squirm, because, as he says, they knew before this debate that his position is that he is not limited to Bible alone, but he can see from Rob's body language that Rob is trying to set a trap for him by repeatedly asking (even shoving a Bible at him) to substantiate his view from Bible passages, when he had repeatedly said that he is not confined to that... It's not that he CAN'T answer, it's that he HAS answered and his answer is not to your liking.
@xtian21c Ah, there's the difference then. A representative for the entire Diocese of Austin, Texas clearly shows that he is not limited to what the Bible says yet the Bible itself declares itself to be the Word of God thousands of times (even Jesus says so again & again). The purpose of the debate was accomplished, namely, Romanism is something other than what the Bible teaches as Christianity. This is why homosexual Romanist priests can get away with child abuse.
@CAnswersTV ...What the Mgr says does not in any way negate the Bible containing the word of God. But, who decided what should constitute the New Testament? It was the early Church (and its bishops), which pre-existed the New Testament texts. How could they decide what should form part of the New Testament and what should not, if they did not have knowledge other than the New Testament itself? It isn't the Bible that creates the Church. The authority was given to the New Testament by the Church.
@xtian21c All you're doing here is repeating the tired & worn out LIE that Romanists use to give themselves an excuse not to do what the Bible says. Roman cultists such as yourself argue that Roman cultists MADE the Bible so Roman cultists can do with it as they desire like venerate Mary or have half the Roman priesthood as homosexuals molesting children. Our website HISTORYCART COM refutes your phony claims about the early church & the Bible.
@CAnswersTV ...You claim there are *thousands* of Biblical references to back your point of view... please give me the Bible reference for where the Bible says that "the Bible ALONE is the word of God" or any reference that tells us that Christians are to be "limited to the Bible alone". I'll be interested to see your response.
@xtian21c I noticed you didn't have anything to say about how even Roman Catholic sources themselves say that almost half their priests are homosexuals & the Romanist cult continues to spend billions to defend its pediphiles. Anyway, at least 3800 times in the O.T. "the Lord spoke" appears, Jesus quoted from 24 O.T. books as being the word of God, Luke 16 - Jesus demonstrated the unsaved don't believe the prophets, 2 Timothy 3:14-17, for starters.
@CAnswersTV Yes, as you say, "the purpose of the debate was accomplished, namely, Romanism is something other than what the Bible teaches as Christianity". That is indeed the purpose of your "debate" - a sort of ambush. Our debates in the Catholic Church are to find the truth, not to prop up our prejudices. This is precisely why your historycart web site falls into such error. When you've got an agenda, it's so easy to distort the facts to fit it.
You see...if you believe in creationism, the Great Flood (caused by God),
that man is born with a "sin desease" and needs an Act of God to be saved... it seems to go against reason and often even against scripture... sorry but, this too is "blind faith" I would argue.
I know Christianity gives one a sense of security, but, it has to stand up to reason...don't you think so !
@enniopat It's obvious that you don't really know anything substantial about the Bible. Everything you say here proves you just have not studied the issues of the Bible well enough to even be discussing it. Why don't you break down & read our website BIBLEQUERY ORG, it will answer 7700 Bible questions for you. If you need a history lesson on the Bible go to our website HISTORYCART COM. After that go to GOOGLE VIDEO or YAHOO VIDEO (search LARRY WESSELS on homepages) & see our 230+ shows.
@enniopat Thanks for the reply. I was just dealing with a Moonie in the comments section under one of our videos "Debate with Moonies (of Rev Moon)" before I came over here to reply to you. The Moonie I'm dealing with does indeed exercise a "blind faith" in Rev Moon exclusive of facts & evidences to the contrary (whether it be the Biblical record, history, whatever). True Christianity is not based on "blind faith" but on manuscript evidence, hundreds of fulfilled prophecies, archeology, etc.
"you shall be my people..." The laws/Testament was with them...the rest of us waited for the missionaries(?) 4000 years? Fair?
Yes God destroyed them with the flood including the Children also at Sodom and Gomorrah...fair?
No, the analogy that Christianity is perfect and others imperfect is also unfair. Love is the quality to measure not doctrines..and a Muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu can also love as much...
@enniopat I understand your point all too well & from a worldly non-Biblical perspective it makes ordinary sense what you are saying but the problem is you are not looking at worldview theology from a BIBLICAL perspective (extra-ordinary) which is all that counts since all other religions are false. Fairness & Love do not count unless it is in a Biblical context (Romans 9). And how do you define "fanatic'? Is a "fanatic" someone who takes their faith seriously or is it someone like you?
"1962SatanTookOver2" is an interesting name for a Youtube account. It looks like you have a Pope for your god icon since Romanism is idolatry & your name seems to indicate "Satan took over" your Pope (are you saying the Pope was taken over by Satan just before Vatican II came out?). Anyway, as usual by you papists, your argument here is fallacious since no one is talking about "Protestantism." Our concern is what the Bible clearly teaches backed by church history not what Protestantism says.
Amen, I believe what the Bible says! As a Catholic, I believe everything the Bible says! However, I don't agree with your personal interpretation of that passage.
2 Peter 3 16He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
"ebolingUtube" you've already demonstrated by your other comments that you don't know what the Bible says to even believe what the Bible says! Catholics, by & large, do not know what the Bible says but rather just believe what they are told the Bible says by their Romanist heirachy (much like JWs & Mormons just believe what their leaders say about the Bible). Rome says only 6 verses have been clearly interpreted (go Yahoo Video, search Larry Wessels, find his 2 hour debate with Dr Fastiggi).
"CAnswersTV" thank you for pointing out that I do not have the authority to interpret the bible correctly. This is a true statement. It is just as true that you do not have the authority to interpret it correctly either. Your interpretation is the reason that there are more than 1000 protestant religions and it is growing very fast. Many of those also do not agree with your interpretation of the bible. I believe the interpretation of the Catholic church as well to many others.
"ebolingUtube" you have committed a logical fallacy by assuming what you have yet to prove. Just because you admit that you cannot interpret the Bible correctly does not mean that others cannot interpret the Bible correctly, get it? You've already shown that you neither know the Bible or can interpret it correctly making you a perfect candidate for a false religious system like Romanism. It is obvious that you are trusting in a man-made religious organization rather than Christ. Good luck.
I never admitted that I cannot interpret the bible correctly. I said I do not have the authority to interpret it correctly and neither do you. I can interpret it just as well as you can. I also do not need to prove anything because I have not made any claims like you have. What you are really saying is that if someone, including myself, does not interpret the bible as you say, then they cannot interpret the bible correctly. Now that is a scary thought.
All of your statements in this particular comment "ebolingUtube" are completely false. You start off with equivocation based on your prior statements. You follow this logical fallacy with another one of false analogy followed by another called "begging the question." You complete your nonsense with what is called a "post hoc fallacy" according to the laws of logic. Wow, no wonder you're a Romanist! What you really need is to be supernaturally "born again" by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4-7).
I guess we can agree to disagree. I wish you the best in your ventures to continue loving God. I do hope you are able to start talking more about what is in common rather than what is not in common. I wish you well.
Romanist? What is this the 19th Century? Who uses that term besides anticatholic Calvinists? Why not call JW's Brooklynists, or Mormons Salt Lakists? Lutherans call them Augsbergers. Anglicans--Londonians. Why not call Presbyterians Scottists, or Calvinists in general "Genevahites." Using terms like Romanist is smacking with bigotry and arrogance, suggesting to me you are not really interested in any dialogue as much as you name calling. This outdated name calling reminds me of James White
"OrthodoxCatholic1" you don't seem to appreciate our vocabulary but "Romanist" fits the description for a Roman Catholic follower as well as "Campbellite" fits the description for a follower of Alexander Campbell, one of the "Church of Christ" "Restorers." And what is this, you don't like brother James White, shame on you. Soon we'll have several of his debates up also. Your problem will always be the same, until you are "born again" by the Spirit of God (John 3:3-8) you'll never understand.
Once again "ebolingUtube" you are demonstrating your dismal ignorance of the Biblical record in regard to these matters. If you're going to discuss theology then you must have an educated framework from which to state your case. Blindly proclaimly your "opinions" simply will not do when the real question here is, "What does the Bible say about the issues at hand?" Jesus himself said that "few" would be saved (even among those claiming to be Christians), see for yourself in Matthew 7:13-29.
You are right about my comment of hipocracy. I do appologize for that comment. I know they do believe what they are saying in the video. These videos are causing me to say things that are not appropriate behavior for a true Christian. I have posted several quotes from the bible on your first video. Since Protestants view the bible so literally and love to ask the question, "Where is that in the bible?", I would also like to know where it is in the bible that Catholics are not Christian.
Thank you for the nice comment amlach1, it is appreciated. I'll take this opportunity to let readers of this know that we have many hours of theological shows Biblically dealing with Roman Catholicism on YAHOO VIDEO (including a 16 hour series dealing with different aspects of Romanism). Viewers are invited to go to the Yahoo Video homepage & once there type "Larry Wessels" in the search box & our 1 hour version videos will come up, look for the ones on Romanism.
What happened to the teaching that there is no salvation outside of the Catholic church ~~ I guess that dogma is not in effect any longer.
