  • @RustBuzz not the right attitude, but the HIGH attitude

  • @memoryman94 You have a good radar for humor.

  • it's nice to make jokes about mitchell on drums as long as you keep in mind that it was a pure manifestation of emotions and devotion and passion of being on drums that make the beat to the force of nature, jimi hendrix.

  • 3:40 the acid kicks in.

  • okay im pretty sure i saw that black guy dancing in a blind faith video too ahah

  • @JimmyPage97 You got to be kidding right. With a name like JimmyPage97 you can't be serious. He even is quoting as saying Jimi was a big influence on his playing lol.

  • There's a reason this was done in 69 :D

  • Well, maybe a blanket or a pillow inside this bass drum would get the drum sound quite right... It's too treble...

  • 3:17 yeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrgggg!!!!

  • The black dude dancing his ass of is, like he is from this time and he gets a chance to see Jimi live !!!

  • @mrlee192 Bang on! Its such a strange thing how loose and untame it sounds but how tight and controlled it is at the same time.

  • Look at all the faces of the conservatives. Priceless...

  • shit. them air drummers are just plain hip !!!!!

  • Damn, looking right at him and still don't know what he was doing with that guitar? Jimi should have come around forty years later he would have been totally appreciated by everyone.

  • @romienomie lol there would be no one to appreciate him forty years later if he hadn't come forty years ago.

  • from 3:08, wow.....

  • god music. I get chills listening to this stuff.

  • All guitar players are great. Page, clapton,Roads,VanHalen,Blackmore. But Hendrix is a totaly other level... Its Art... Its once in a lifetime. Just like Fokker or Jesus Christ.

  • @Staziish hEY, Hendrix rules!! Fuck Jesus!!!

  • @itsmedude1020

that dude - Mitch Mitchell!!! hes was awesome

  • @itsmedude1020 THAT DUDE?!?!? GRRRR ITS MITCH MITCHELL NOOBASS

  • @JimmyPage97 Sorry, I suck with names and don't really care anything about them. I know what he looks like and I know that I like his music. Who cares who makes the music anyways? The music is what matters, everything else is just secondary.

  • @itsmedude1020 I was just kidding, but it wouldn't hurt to know his name, especially someone as good as Mitch Mitchell

  • @JimmyPage97 Gotcha man. Well I shall attempt to memorize his name.

  • Drums on the start is like Endless Nameless from nirvana...:]

  • Comment removed

  • @sychrov81 yeah they probably copied jhe! lol.

  • ..no I dont think so, maby they used same drugs...:]

  • @sychrov81 maybe nirvana started like "Enless Nameless" like "I Dont Live Today."

  • @sychrov81 I think you have that backwards.

  • @sychrov81 the drums on endless nameless or whatever the fuck its called is like

    I Don't Live Today.

  • @renoraider2 Sure Jimmy was firts..:]

  • @sychrov81 you mean the other way around, right??

  • @sychrov81

Why all the thumbs up for this???

An innovative, brilliant drum intro by Mitch and some people think Nirvana done it first?

And secondly, Dave Grolsch isn't anywhere NEAR Mitch as a drummer. Jeezus :(

    JMH#1

  • I don't

    Live today

It's such a shame to spend the time

    Away like this!!!

  • This is so amazing, some of those people definitely didn't know what they were hearing and watching. his music is a great gift to the world, I hope we never lose it.

  • @nakedpplinthestreet We knew what we were listening to. That is why most people didn't move around or talk. We were in awe.

  • @billingsdds I understand that, I often react like that to music, especially live, and just stare in amazement, but if I were at a Jimi Hendrix concert I would feel compelled at some point in the concert to move and share my emotional response with him. Not to say you didn't have a strong reaction. I'd be one of those people moving my body in every direction.

  • [generic comment about guy at 1:04

  • Awesome footage...Thanks for posting!!! was Jimi a magician...how'd he light that ciggarette? slight of hand extrordinaire!

  • When the redone film and remastered audio come out this year they will cement Jimi's position as THE master. Then Black Gold will be the crown jewel shortly thereafter.

  • @mcleanartists Is it definite that Experience Hendrix is redoing the RAH concerts? Also, what is Black Gold?

  • @jgcaesar4 Yes, both shows as well as sound check, Jimi reviewing the mixes in the studio under the stage and more footage. The Hendrix estate owns it and John McDermott and Janie Hendrix have spent a lot of time having it all restored. It's coming. And very soon.

  • @mcleanartists Thank you. This is great news. A display of tone and amp control for the ages.

  • @jgcaesar4 Apparently there is a lawsuit to ensure Experience Hendrix LLC has sole and complete ownership so it has been delayed. But it is finished and both Feb. concerts and soundcheck are in the new movie.

  • @mcleanartists Thank you for the update. This makes my day. I just can't wait to see Bleeding Heart and Red House.

  • @jgcaesar4 Black Gold was a project that Hendrix began to work on prior to his death in September 1970. He had hoped to create a cartoon movie focusing on a main character by the name of "Black Gold". The cartoon was to have accompanying music, which Hendrix had already begun working on prior to his death. The "Black Gold" that mcleanartists is referring to is a set of cassette tapes that Jimi gave to Mitch Mitchell while they were in Hawaii working on Mike Jeffery’s Rainbow Bridge project.

  • The tapes contain 15 tracks that are assumed to be preliminary recordings designed to accompany the cartoon Jimi had hoped to create. The tracks were recorded on Jimi’s personal recorded and contain Hendrix on his Martin acoustic guitar and no one else.

  • @MidnightLightning25 Hendrix never directly explained to Mitch what the tapes were for, but Mitch assumed Jimi wanted him to listen to the tapes so that he could get acclimated with conceptual framework of the music prior to perfecting it in studio. Unfortunately, Jimi passed away before any more could be done with the Black Gold project. Mitch kept the tapes in his basement for many years, as he for whatever reason, assumed that they were not the fabled Black Gold recordings.

  • @MidnightLightning25 Then in the early 90's Mitch discovered that the tapes were in fact the Black Gold recordings and he turned them over the Experience Hendrix LLC, where they remain to this day.

  • @MidnightLightning25 Thank you so much for the info.

  • @MrMeddled woah woah man, mitch was an amazing drummer, a jazz drummer infact, thats what all the "overplaying" is about. He is deffenetly not a shit drummer, nor an egotistical little prat. And yes i agree, buddys playing was really cool to, but only for some song eg machine gun (live at fillmore). Have u heard buddy playing songs like 'fire', it sounds like shit, mitch is the only one for some stuff though

  • so amazing.

  • @MrMeddled Hendrix playing with a shit bassist and a hack drummer? Clean the shit out of your mind man, you're fuckin' clueless.

  • This might be a bad video to write this on, no disrespect to Mitch, but am I the only person who likes the drumming of Buddy Miles and the Band of Gypsys better along side Hendrix? Mitch seems kind of all over the place (and so is hendrix for that matter haha) but Miles seems to be a cooler funkier backbeat while Jimi shreds.

  • 1:03 its one of those inflatable guys in front of car dealerships

  • @a7x7636

    HAHA...that funny! 3:07-3:51!!

  • @LilRedRasta eww black people and indian people can't play music !!

  • air drumming masters!!! 4:50

  • Hahaha. I love those three cats playing the drums at about 5:00 mins in.

  • I BET JIMI GOT SOME MAD PUSSY BACK THEN !!

  • DAMN I WISH HE WAS ALIVE... JIMI WAS A MASTER GUITARIST !

  • What most people do not know is that most, if not all,rock/pop music that has guitar in it after Hendrix is all based on Hendrix. Today in 2011 you can still hear it in all pop genres. I don't mean to spam but I put some of my recent original music online. If you want to know how heavy Hendrix influenced music sounds today click on wiszrock. I think you'll like it.

  • JIMI HENDRIX FOREVER!

  • FUCK YES

  • oh come on..... 1 dislike???? wtf is going on with you??? ur ruining the whole party -.-

  • Whats the song they were listening to during the interview, totally 60's/psychedelic/vietnamwarera/type rock.

  • nothing but existing

  • mans a bro.... pounding some beers before shredding it up..... a real legend

  • I have never seen or heard this. I almost 60 and been listening the The Master since I was 14. What an incredible live performance. No wonder Clapton wanted to just hang up his guitar after seeing Jimi perform.

  • I know I'm showing my age but I got to see him live 6 times before he died... He was just mind blowing...

  • @fatcat45255 . How old are you @fatct45255 ?

  • @fatcat45255

Wow, I am SO freaking envious. I've been a Hendrix freak for thirty years and was too young to see him play.

  • 3:25 is better than music nowadays

  • what a sound

  • where i can find the audio version? i had it but it's lost. i can't find in internet!

  • @klinklin10 It's on on The Jimi Hendrix "Experience" [Live at The Royal Albert Hall 2/24/69] [Soundtrack, Import]. I'm not sure if it's on another CD.

  • @jgcaesar4 great, thank you

  • Wow... I came to see Jimi, but that drummer, just WOW! And I'm not talking just about the intro.

Mitch Mitchell had Bonham's and Moon's rage while playing!

  • Hearing this must have been like hearing any sound for the first time ever. He just came down and gave you ears and then made love to them

  • jimi hendrix,

    y u no live today?

  • How about posting more from this classic Jimi movie?

  • ladies and gentlemen, God on guitar

  • Go on the fella at 1.04!

  • Aren't you Glad by the Spirit at 6:12

  • For some reason the people in that concert seem to be very bored... if I were there I would be bursting with amazement. there would be semen all over jimi

  • @whitebloodcell305

Back then they made you sit down at concerts.. Freaking fun police!

  • @irok45 They weren't sitting down, they were brought to their knees by the most awe-inspiring sounds ever heard

  • jimi never died, his soul just became pure musical energy
