  • if bombs or fires strike a city, place or country today ,especially in the middles east, the help comes rather quickly.,but where was the help for London and their inhabitants back in those days?so many lives could have been saved and so many countries could have helped!

  • motherfuckers had it coming lol

  • @cryteeek Must be tough knowing your hero died nearly 70 years ago.

  • Thats the british 9/11 and the USA did'nt help till years later.

  • @NielsShoe That's a good point mate, and London is still getting hammered by terrorists from the IRA to Al Qaeda, the difference is they don't whinge like a pack of babies or invent new mental disorders as a result

  • @NielsShoe your a dumbsack usa helped that allied powers in ww2 since the beginning and joined in a year later, if they didnt join the war germany would have clearly won

  • @GFBalla no actually not. the war would have been won with or without america, they weren't needed at all. when america joined ww2 russia had already defeated 80% of the german war machine and germany was on the verge of collapse. america didn't make any difference at all.

  • amazing footages

  • Bet on your country to World Cup finalist in 2014 Brazil and win prizes up to: 150,000 € wwworldcupbet! BIDS LIMITED! PLAY A ROUND WITH THE STARS: Ronaldinho, Nilmar and Neymar.

  • WOW, just look at the footage; amazing and quite scaring. I'm from Sweden and I do appreciate the job Britain did for the liberation of Europe. The Britons got the job done!

  • 74,172 metric tons of bombs where dropped on Britain... 1,350,000 metric tons of bombs where dropped on Germany... Think about it.

  • @Metallica4ever6355 Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Belief, Freedom of Movement, Freedom of choice ...... Personality Cult, Genocide, Youth Endoctrination, Totalitarianism ....... think about it

  • London The greatest City on Earth

  • If I may put my two cents in, those that profited from the war including FDR his inveigh against war profiteers notwithstanding insured the outcome from the git go. Like today the filthy rich insure that they keep their lucre at the expense of the average citizen.

I too have the proud British blood and love the great language, unsurpassed mind you, that they gave us. With that said let's stop look at the cartoon version of WW2 and realize Cui Bono (who gains).

  • fascinating. but such a shame

  • This is amazing footage, how did you get colour though? Edited? Well, just to say they didn't have coloured cameras in those days, so either edited, or from a film.

  • rot in hell! hitler and germany,

  • @GWR1940 Germany was bombed as well you idiot. Millions of German lives were lost in Allied bombings and many Cities totally destroyed. Hitler is dead, but Germany isn't. And Germany is still one of the strongest nations in the European community. Britain was crushed in mainland Europe and only by American intervention did we save Britain from falling to the Nazis. Britain fell in 1940, and has never rose again.

  • wot a twat'ish rant lol....

  • @angels77100 Yes, not all the German's liked Hitler, but they had no choice, seeing as the Nazis would kill them if they didn't.

Hitler also did a terrible thing to all the Jewish folk, his soldiers raped young teenagers, and separated the children from their mothers. He also killed them by putting them in a gas-filled room to choke to death.

But this was was between the whole of Europe as well.

My teacher described Hitler as "An evil little man, who had no life." I would put swear words to that

  • @FrackaStodgo I actually agree with everything you said. Hitler was evil, Nazism was something that had to be stopped. But like most British people, you have only learned the English perspective of events. The truth is, Britain was defeated in Mainland Europe. They lost the war although most of the British Isles didn't fall into Nazi hands. Hitler turned East and the USA entered the war against Imperial Japan. But this footage is fascinating and I enjoyed it.

  • @FrackaStodgo Obviously you watch to much of the "Hitlery Channels". What you say (and your reacher) is incorrect.

  • @FrackaStodgo ps Don't bother replying (just visited your home page) Nothing I could say would change your mind... Have a nice life

  • @angels77100 Britain didn't fall in 1940, Hitler couldn't invade Britain until he had control of the Channel which was dominated by the RAF, realising he was wasting time and Britain would never be able to counter he went after the Soviet Union to defeat them quickly before US joined and made it a two-front war.

  • @MacoSensei Yes, that's how events turned out. But prior to Hitler's decision to turn east, (as you correctly pointed out he realized that invading Britain was a waste of time) the USA was about to join the war on the side of Germany to attack Russia, had not Japan attacked the USA. There is a lot of facts that were never felt important enough. Like Churchill's decision to hand over all Britain's secrets to the USA realizing that Britain was defeated, Pearl Harbor changed history.

  • @angels77100 Yes, I think that US was being apathetic; had the war continued on to Germany's advantage then the US would most likely ally with Germany. Pearl Harbor was in 41, US stormed Europe in 44. After the Sixth Army failed to capture Stalingrad in 43 and roll back by Soviet forces, US feared a USSR dominated EU under Communism. Germany, though Fascist still upheld Capitalism to an extent and America would only go to war with Japan as a Pacific War rather than an overall WW2.

  • Precisely MacoSenei. You explained the whole situation exceptionally. But they don't teach those situations at school as they were mere probabilities.

  • Very sad images, London will never be the same.

  • What a tragedy war is. Bliar should be judged in Den Haag/TPI for allegiance at doing the same in Iraq

  • Hitlers JETS? Rockefeller had The ONLY Jet Fuel on EARTH. Rockefeller GAVE Hitler all the OIL for WW2. Churchill is a Rothschild he conveniently observed the BLITZ from afar. Prescott Bush owned Silecian Steel in Auschwitz death camps of ig Farben producing STEEL for HITLER. Rockefeller cartelled with Farben producing ZyclonB Death Gas

  • great footage. Thank you for posting this

  • As a response, we bombed Hamburg which set off more bombing. 5*

  • an amazing film. My grandparents and parents hated talking about it, they just wanted a positive war free future for their family

  • This is incredible. Does anyone know where I could see more of Rosie Newman's footage?

  • I am amazed. I can barely believe the hideous ugliness of only a few decades ago.

My dear dad was born in 1935, next to the Mersey in Cheshire. Although not directly affected by the Blitz, he talks of how his huge family would huddle around the radio news broadcasts. Of how his headmaster, a WW 1 veteran used to read all the newspaper articles at assembly.

The whole war history recently has me struck in awe & total admiration for our brave men & women.

    It blows my mind really.

    Thanks.

  • I was born in Bermondsey in 1934 and lived the war years in SW London. We slept many nights down in Colliers Wood Tube Station and were there when a bomb dropped just outside Balham Station, flooding the Underground with water from the sewage and killing some people. Later we moved to Balham and also slept two weeks in that UG. The bombed out houses were our playgrounds and we took a lot of wood home as fuel for the fires, as coal was rationed it came in very handy.

  • @angloswisslad it must've been absolutely terrifying to live through. It's thanks to people like you and your parents' generation that this country is free. People ought to remember the horror you went through and the sacrifices you made, whether you had a choice in the matter or not. I think I would've cracked up to be honest.

  • @angloswisslad I'm a little younger than you and was born in Brockley, Lewisham. I too remember a night spent on an Underground platform but was never sure where. New Cross would have been the nearest to us. The bombed-out buildings liable to collapse at any moment were indeed our playgrounds made even more dangerous by "buzzing" stones and brick fragments at one another to see how nearly we could miss. Btw,Hitler ordered the punitive flooding of the Berlin U-Bahn also used as a shelter,

  • @angloswisslad amazing, thanks for sharing your early childhood memories.

  • @angloswisslad, By the time I was born the war had been over for 31 years. So I can't imagine how terrifying it must of been to be huddled in an air raid shelter listening to the wailing sirens and having bombs being dropped all around you.

  • @angloswisslad Thanks for sharing indeed!!

  • @angloswisslad: You need to sit down and write about your experiences during the blitz, especially as you recount it though the eyes of a child at the time. I've read many stories from those who lived through the war years and they are all unique and really make for fascinating reading. I'm sure you have the time on your hands so pick up that pen and tell us all about it. I'm glad you lived though it.

  • Amazing footage. My parents were 8 when the war started and 14 when it ended and mum remembers being thrown out of bed late in the war when a V2 struck about half a mile away. That was in Hayes west London.

  • Looking at those pictures I feel ashamed that some Germans still wail about the bombing of Dresden.

  • @Orjas67 You would not feel ashamed if you knew history. In the winter of 1917 the British Navy cut off food and fuel to Northern Germany. 750,000 people died from one British Naval move. Do your homework! Why in the hell did England side with Russia anyway in both wars? I feel for all people because all war is started by the elite for profit.

  • @marinello6 You musn't forget that it was also the Germans who started the 1914-1918 war, so why blame the British for fighting back. Why did Germany side with Russia and Italy in WW2? So that they would be stronger and win the war started by that mad Austrian!!

  • @angloswisslad Austro Hungary declared war on Serbia.....after Serbia refused to abide by agreements after the assassination of Ferdinand. Then Russia declared war on Austro Hungary, then Germany came in as the alli of Austro Hungary. The war with Great Britain would have been over in 1916 if American and British Jewry did not decide to bribe the elite of England with the Balfour Declaration.

  • @angloswisslad Stalin had murdered tens of millions of people before WW2 even started. Why was England the alli of Russia during WW1? This all has to do with money and the Rothchilds lending money to any side for profit and also the push by Zionests to create a state of Israel via the Balfour Declaration. German Jews in the U.S. were very much on the side of Germany until the opportunity to create their own country was possible. In 1916, Jewish influence turned on a dime against Germany.

  • @angloswisslad the germans didnt side with russia, infact, the russians hate the germans....they would go comando if they saw each other.....

  • @Orjas67 account closed. yeah, you pussy. you knew you would get your ass kicked so you fucked off.

  • In those days everyone pulled together - there was no devisiveness, no politiking - people helped one another and all fought for the good of the country. They didn't winge and moan they just got on with it!!!!

  • This amazing footage. Did the man on the ruined house survive? It's difficult to tell.
