@Char1zard93 The ladder that is normally housed with Battalion 9 and Engine 54 is out of service. It was in the shop for maintenance and this truck seen here is just a replacement until the other truck comes back. If you look carefully you can see that the number 4 is written with tape and not painted. :-)
@Char1zard93 Reserve & Spare Rigs are totally different.
Spare rigs are rigs kept at the FDNY Shops that are used when a companies regular rig goes Out Of Service. The Companies usually mark up Spare rigs with duct tape to show their company number.
Reserve rigs are rigs that are fully equipped and are housed through-out the city. They usually enter service during Heavy Snow storms, Hurricanes etc. Reserve Engine 505 is housed with Engine 54 Ladder 4 at the back of their house
Now I got it , thanks! :) In my country , for example:
Engines 11 , 12 , 13 (reserve) , Ladder 41 are housed at the Central Fire dept.
If Engine 11 is Out Of Service , then 12 becomes 11 , and 13 becomes 12 , or if 12 is "Out" , then 13 becomes Engine 12... If Ladder 41 is "Out" (Now it's out) , they change it to Ladder 42 from the "Reserve" Fire dept. (Actually it's not a reserve dept , just a garbage dump with 2-3 "Useful" rigs and out of date rubbish , to take details from them :)
Why is the guy driving ladder 4 actin like a jackass that doesn't know how to work a fire truck :3
