@BonesCentralRR yep the lionel one is virtually identical same headlight operation and and same power only differance is that it has (i think) tmcc and legacy command systems though mth's have differant stuff i have the MTH 2008 catalog you mentioned though i didnt notice it also they have the lionel one at one of my local train shops (Scale Model Supply twin cities MN)
Amazing. Does anyone know what is the Army camouflage set that starts out this video? Is it a custom job. I've looked at several sites trying to find something like it.thanks
Great job Jeff! You gotta love this layout dude!- not that far from us too! The subway section is sweet! nice army train! i wish i had that diesel shop and terminal! I wanted to join but my car cant make that trip plus i need the money and time to work on it. I met the president's son in my train store in SI!- nice guy- he doesnt like trains though LOL
@Maxmellow94 The club I belong to was invited for a visit. The layout is located in Patterson NJ. However, they do have open houses. There is a schedule on their website njhirailers(DOT)com
Wow Jeff, that layout is amazing! So many details, and different things to look at! My favorite scene was that tank farm, freakin awesome, and also the city with the sky scrapers. Very cool, are they MTH buildings with a bunch of additional extra floors added to them? A couple looked like it. Thanks for sharing your visit!!!!
@PghTrainFanatic No problem Nick, glad you enjoyed the vid! The tank farm is absolutely amazing and all of the high rises were incredible! Most of them are MTH buildings that they modified in their shop! The whole layout is stunning!!!
Superb layout. Can't imagine what kind of time it took, and how many worked on it. Do you know if its open to the public? Thanks for videoing and sharing.
@bluecomet390 Thank you! I agree, they did a great job on the layout. I know that they have open houses. There is a schedule located on their website njhirailers(DOT)com They also have webcams focused on the layout!
@Commando471 Thanks! I used a program that came with the camera. It took me half an hour to put together, an hour to save it, and then another hour to put it up on youtube, but its worth it!
Nice video Jeffrey! I really like the detail on that huge frickin' layout! That thing is a amazing and I would love to visit it. The Steam round house is so cool along with the Diesel shop too at the beginning of the video. They really did a great job on it. How long did it take to build? Also, do they use Ross or Atlas track? Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see more!
@Bassfanatic94 Thank you! Yeah, the layout is absolutely huge and the detailing they did on it is amazing! The high rises are one of my favorite spots but the hills and the weeds along the tracks make it look so realistic! I agree, the diesel servicing shop and the round house are absolutely amazing! I am not too sure how long it took them to build. I believe they are using Atlas track. I have another video of their operating drawbridge. I'll put it on a little later...
Love the video... Love NJ Hi- Railers...

@BonesCentralRR i thought they were lionels because lionel at one point offered SD40-2's in desert storm colors so thanks for the tip
Mrtrainfreak12 1 month ago
@Mrtrainfreak12 Yes. I believe Lionel came out with theirs a few years before MTH. MTH also produced a dummy in the same scheme (seen in the video.)

@Mrtrainfreak12 Nope. The Desert Storm engines are made by MTH. They were cataloged in 2008.
