I had a g50vt and then a g51vx, I loved the form factor etc hated the screen. I had x9100 in both of them, and the cooling solution is not good enough for overclocking... The gt 260m on the g51vx had a glitch,it ran Fullspeed in windows 7... all the time. driver problems... But, I loved the undervolted x9100...and overclocked at 100Cat 3.6GHz...:D

i used to overclock my asus g50 from the direct consol, but suddenly when i try to overclock it, the performance and LED light tabs on the direct consol arent clickable, only the OLED panel tab, do you know whats wrong, why direct consol isnt working, how can i fix this or overclock without direct consol?

Thanks for the video. I'm wondering about the BIOS flash mod, though. There's supposed to be one for the Asus G51/G60 that sets the GPU's BIOS to the correct clocks of the GTX 260M instead of the clocks it comes by default. If you have any info on how I can do that, or if you can point me to a tutorial, that'd be very helpful.

i think it is unsafe to overclock this laptop cause the machine will be sooooo damn hot , even the regular using will cause a high temperature . i'm using it , feel unsatisfied with its poor cooler design , I tried to open it then found the fan is so weak , not enough for cooling gtx 260 graphic card

@theveteransniper Go to the Nvidia and download the drivers. Go to nvidia's site (youtube won't let me post link), choose your country, then select "Download Drivers" near the upper-left corner of the page. Choose your GPU and OS, then download.

It's for BATTERY power saving's or high performace when plugged in if you need to save battery power ...

READ what the settings are it doesn't OVERCLOCK anything, It has different settings for saving battery life.

The reason people keep saying that Power4Gear is for overclocking is because it DOES overclock on certain ASUS notebooks. I had a G50 and Power4Gear DID perform overclocking. Then I got my G51 and noticed that Power4Gear no longer performed overclocking.

This is not a real overclock.If you want to do a real overclock you have to set a new fsb but this is not very safe.
