Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
Did anyone know that Allyce Beasley was once married to actor Vincent Schiavelli, best known as the spirit on the subway train that taught Patrick Swayze how to use his power in the film "Ghost"?
Al Jarreau's ethereal rendition of this wonderful composition evokes memories of light times we all can re-live every time we hear his timeless voice!
LOVE this song so much!!!!! Always made sure to turn the TV on to watch this show well before it started to make sure to catch every possible second of this theme song!
@verydeppobsessed ME TOO,and it calms you down and makes you feel so good and then its over and then the show starts and the theme song still has you in a daze!
awesome song and awesome tv show. Well, the show was great until David and Mattie got into a relationship and that fucked it up. Same shit happened to Remmingting Steele and Scarecrow and Mrs.King.
I am trying to trackdown the bit where david is being chided by Ray charles and he plays hit the jack.. superb series and really needs repeating, with the Dr Sousse dialogue - ha.
You're not the only one! I used to rush home to see Moonlighting every Thursday. Just hearing the theme song gave me goosebumps. I loved Maddie & David's chemistry! I'd like all of the episodes, but I only have 1 & 2.
Al hit #23 in Billboard, 7-18-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Anybody have the original promo vid, where Cybill has some dialogure before the theme starts? If so, please post it.
I love Al Jarreu's voice/singing. How I wish I could sing like him. And OMG, what gorgeous photos in the video. Please vie99, tell me how I can find them??
What a beautiful voice! He's such an amazing singer and to match him up with this song. Wow. He is my first and only man crush. I'm not gay. Just dinner and a song.
Oh so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. The other versions of this song are I guess ok but does not measure up to this version. BTW I remember the 80s because Im a baby-boomer-lol
I'm with ya Free2Be. I was there too. I always loved the intro to Moonlighting because of this song. Found it on Napster b-4 they got shut down. Now it is available on one of Al's greatest hits CD's. The only thing different is that the Sax is missing (bummer). It was replaced with tinny sounding keyboard melodica thing. Great memory! Thanks for sharing.
Al, you're awesome, and I always love listening to your voice. I was born in Milwaukee and actually delivered packages to your relatives during my UPS days.
I would fly in January to Vegas to hear you perform. NEVER a disappointment bro.
creo que esta cancion representa el verdadero espiritu Americano, con el sabor que solo Al Jarreau podia impregnar en una cancion tan hermosa, relajante como luz de luna, es fenomenal me gustaría estar esta noche en Chicago, New York escuchando este tema!
Great show, I too love the special chemistry between Bruce and Cybil and this title track just perfected the blend thanks for posting- Would love to have the lyrics too
This is the theme song to MOONLIGHTING.... Possibly the best weekly show I had ever seen. I never watch TV anymore... except for the news... because they don't have ANYTHING on parallel to this show.... or this tune.. for that matter!
Holy shit! The theme to Moonlighting!!!!!! I was stuck having to watch that show with my mom as a child... 32 now, however the song brings back memories... crazy. Al is the best!
@SDBugg Not at all this was the show that started Bruce Willis' career. Great song and you just new that Bruce was going to be a huge star and soon after he filmed the Die Hard and it was all over after that, one of the True Action Hero's were born. Man were the 80's the best music ever.

@Free2BeCG1 Nah....you're not the only one old enough to remember....I watched this show every week....loved it and love the song as well!! Those were great times back then!! Do you ever wish you could go back to a point in time and just let it "stand still" I DO!! LOL!
@Free2BeCG1 I remember it. Cybil's name was Maddie and it was a great show. Launched Bruce Willis's career. He gave a note to Cybil Sheppard, "To my first leading lady."
@Free2BeCG1 No, you're NOT!!! Besides, it's a beautiful song, sung beautifully! Even the kids today with tin, damaged ears should enjoy it -- quality music for a change!!!
@Free2BeCG1 No, you're not alone! I just recently bought all 5 seasons on DVD and enjoy watching it every evening. It's a great show! Nice, dynamic, intriquing, full of humour. I love it!
@Free2BeCG1 I remember it. It was great! Cybil and Bruce had so much chemistry, possibly more than Luke and Laura. Classy, charming, funny, and endearing show. They don't make them like that anymore.
@Free2BeCG1 I've just started to see it today :P even if I saw it like 4 or 5 times :))) so, you are not the only one who's old enough to remember it...and I'm only 23
