Good music, until the singing begins... as aleays... why is it so, that I can't stand the vocals of these kind of bands... maybe cause they got no heart and soul. :-(
Trust me, if you'd listen to more progressive metal, you'll understand the vocals better(or in your case, vocals will have heart or soul). IMHO, the vocals in this track are genius, as well as the instrumental.
Wow im a huge progressive fan, dream theater, symphony x etc and i been looking for other bands with that progressive touch who can pull it off, these guys really can awesome shit.

Dream theaters Best album was train of thought, because it was the only thing they did that didn't sound like a bunch of random musical ideas strung together by solos. Now, I do like random musical ideas strung together by solos, but I liked train of thought because it made it emotionally moving.
Interesting input..I usually get kicked in my rear end when I say something like that about DT. I totally agree with you, except that I still like IAW the most. In fact, I got rid off all their other stuff, but I collect their solo or collaborative projects because I think that's where members of the band usually play best music, not thousand notes a second, if you know what I mean. I miss Kevin Moore's talent that put DT in balance. After he left, it went down the hill idea wise...
Nah. Best DT album was SFAM. Systematic Chaos has its moments, but like Train Of Thought, it flounders a bit on the 'epic' tracks. Octavarium got the epic track right, but floundered on a couple of the non-epic ones.)
you can compare them with DT:Systematic Chaos vs Terra Incognita, DT has launched in our face the same sauce:a line of composition that we already know since Awake, not that i dislike DT but i think that they are becoming commercial, A great band like them should always bring freshness not old stuff, take a look a the last symphony X effort, a new highly techniques : of course the same style but the approach different and high centered, Drema Theater : same style same approach nothing new
Falling into infinity was a smoother, more controlled piece melodically than awake. SfaM was a fluid concept album, 6DoIT, was a monster prog epic with experimental pieces on the first disc, ToT was balls out heavy, Octavarium had some of the components from their last three releases, and the latest is a perfect balance of heaviness and prog.
They maintain certain themes throughout their career, but their sound does evolve. Besides, why stray too far from what works?
They definitely are inspired by Dream Theater, but don't sound like carbon copies of them, IMHO. I actually hear influences from many prog bands in the mix. (There's a strong Symphony X influence, no doubt. I even hear a little Enchant and Fates Warning here and there.)
this is excellent

Good prog-power instrumentals, so-so on the singer. Video is HILARIOUS though. Reminds me of a low-budget black metal video.

Jó hogy ráakadtam erre a zenére. Így biztosabb lettem abban, hogy magyarországon nem csinálnak jó zenét, és hogy én jobbat tudnék csinálni pl. náluk.

Agreed. Jordan rudess is better by himself than with dream theater... Moore fit better.

i think systematic chaos is the best thing dream theater has released since awake. awake is by far their best album and what made me a fan.
