Think logically about what you just said. Would a kind and merciful god want a person to be blind? If that god loved everyone and wanted us all to go to heaven, why would he blind them? Does this make any sense?

First of all we must understand what the word blind means. The word isn't in reference to the type of physical blindness that may be commonly understood. It is more of a conceptual blindness a blindness of the Mind. Allow me to give you an example: Have you ever heard of something called the Omniverse? It is in a theory that is in response to people that say that the universe is so orderly that it could only have been created by God.

Proponents of the theory of a Omniverse say that there is an infinite number of universes, and that we happen to live in this one that is so ordered. So when a religious person sees the order in the Universe she thinks God! But when another person looks he might think Probability. And that is the sort of self inflicted blindness that the Quran is speaking of... a veil of a conceptual bias towards disbelief
