Aaaaaargh.....backs gone !......must lie down !........see ya.

  • wicked xr2

  • Bland banal 80s club soda pop. Not horrible but too unimaginative to be worth any $ to be ponied up to take this turkey home. Blow Monkeys, well they went farther than I ever did, but... these tunes and lyrics... wait for it... blow monkeys.

  • It reminds me of mall music!

  • @tradings

i'm glad too, i still live in the 80's! :D

  • When i heard this song back in 86, it blew me away...have to say it still does, great eighties song, i have always said the seventies were the best, and i maintain that, but the early to mid-eighties were'nt too far behind, especially with songs like this.Superb post tradings.

  • Don't know idk, but so agree with stukaen.... classy pop. Swing Out Sister, Lisa Stansfield, Everything But The Girl, Blow Monkeys, ABC, real music. Why can't they make good music like this anymore??

  • @Garlandfan that's probably because crappy music = big bucks. in the end, it's the big corporations that gain profit through nonsensical "music". I just hope they don't remove this vid and several others I like

  • what a great song forgot all about this 80's classic

  • Comment removed

  • miss all this music from the 80s. It's like my mind never left that music scene. And probably never will. Unless the music scene in the U.S. can some how magically get good again.

  • These are a British band, like most of the good 80's bands were

  • love it forever!! amazing music maker:) that's the reason why i'll love the 80s' by crazy mode i'm

  • Although there was a style over substance aspect to this group, this song is undeniably fun and infectious. Brilliant danceable pop music.

  • Sylvia Mason-James is one of the back vocalist. The same Sylvia that tours regularly with the Pet Shop Boys, and sings in several PSB songs, like Go West.

    I LOVE the BLOW MONKEYS!

  • Now blow me down.

  • If I could make a montage of my life I think this would be the soundtrack lol 80's pop is awesome.

da hatte sogar musik abspielen etwas besonderes, fast rituelles!

  • @1aonline Genau!

the one in the video is the fiesta...

  • I stand corrected Rangerover61. well spotted.

liked the car anyway. Used to drive a Escort myself back in the 80#s.

  • hope Robert as not forgot his Australia day's. Apart from being a great musician he was also a great soccer player. had many fun games out at Balmain.

  • Blow Monkeys was a part of that unique r&b/pop 80's explosion & it really worked for them & for us :)

  • Ive gotta say I have searched really hard to find this classic and am so glad ive found it !! Pure classic. I love the white Fiesta XR2i in the vid. Brings back memories.

  • what category of music does this song go in? rap? r n b?

  • idk, but i think it belongs to the 'sophisticated pop' genre. like swing out sister, lisa stansfield, etc.

they don't make music like they used to anymore!!! damn

  • @stukahen i agreed with you , sophisticated pop.

  • @stukahen i completely agree. I Never thought to put them in a "sophisticated pop" genre, but it does make sense.

  • @stukahen well obviously you have to BE sophisticated, have style and substance to make this kind of music, and we all know 80's did have a myriad of styles and loads of great bands and authors ... and today, well I can use this generation vocabulary to describe them: MEH ;)

  • @TheFallToRise i'd have to agree with you there dude. music now really is MEH. in fact, I don't consider them music. it's just plain noise! :D

  • @aaartnaz TECHNO

  • That dude has one hell mad fringe!

  • Super Cool!!!!

  • this is good i like this. better than most of the shit that gets realesed these days

  • nice

  • And YES i totally agree with previous comments - British bands did own the 80s and 90s. I was in my early 20s and down in New Zealand/Australia we were just in love with bands like Dire Straits, ELO, Committments, Pet shop boys, Fleetwood Mac (we''ll they sort of british lol) etc etc. Would also like to put in a plug for some of the bands from 'Down Under' who also played their part in that era - INXS, Crowded House, men at Work, Cold Chisel etc - They were Good days !!!

  • Hi Tre404, I live in New Zealand and do agree that, whilst British bands were not that well known for Soull/R&B they did produce some excellent examples. These include songs from UB40, The Committments & even some older songs from the likes of Dusty Springfield. Hope that helps !!!!

  • Hey BUMBLEANDPRINCESS: You know what Australian song I really DUG back then for its soul and funkiness? "Sugar Free" by Wa Wa Nee. It was incredible!

  • T1CTACJ0E: (cont.)

The Blow Monkeys were another. Paul Young displayed some soul as well.

Give me some more instances..... I'm blanking....

  • The Brits owned the 70s and 80s i felt.

ESPECIALY the 80s, they had great songs and artists (the americans) for that decade, but notice in movies they use a lot of british songs in soundtracks and stuff.

anyhoo, the Americans pwnd us big time in the 90s...cos we were releasing some garbage around that time, but not early 90s, early 90s we matched the US in music.

  • I am an American and believe everything you say. The second British invasion came and took the shores of the colonies by storm.

  • T1CTACJ0E: In terms of pop music, you are absolutely correct. I was a teenager in the 80s in the US, and loved so much of what came across the Atlantic! My favourite bands were British.

But I am at heart a fan of Soul/R&B, and England failed MISERABLY in these genre. Only a handful of Brit artists actually incorporated soulfulness successfully into their music during this period, among them Wham! (with their retro-Motown bounce) and Scritti Politti (with slick club tracks).

    (cont.)

  • well yeah, that much is obvious given how Soul/R&B was pretty much born in the USA from contemporary african american musicians at the time.

There were always going to be differences between US and UK music from day 1, i guess it doesn't mean that 'one pwnd the other' over a period of time at all, it just meant music was in its renasaince age heh.

  • i think given the ethnic and cultural differences, not great but significant enough to be mentioned - it was only natural that American Music was going to have music heavily influenced and fused with 'soul/funk' etc given the historical legacy of african american music artists out there and stuff.

  • oh fuck up you pretentious cocksocket. enjoy the misic ya wingnut.

  • LOL.. "cocksocket"?? A vulgarity I have never heard.. I love it...

  • why thank you. i have loads of 'em. New Yorkers and Glaswegians are the best swearers in the world, my little fucknugget....

  • Yes, I'm a NY'er. I can appreciate. Lol

  • you must be a bispecticled celtic fan then?

no huns in europe - dancer

    'mon the hoops

  • Dr. Robert looks like a new wave Rupert Everett. Yum.

  • great music of the eighties!!
