Some people think that calling someone a "he" when they were born a girl or calling someone a "she" when they were born a boy is enabling someone to deny reality. None of the children in this documentary were denying the reality of their biology. It is the other people who're denying reality by thinking that human beings are ONLY biology: and not unique individuals with hopes and fears just like everyone else.

Instead, the people opposed to doing this seem to think that it's playing into some kind of fantasy. I'm all for making yourself looking how you feel if that's what makes you comfortable and being okay in your own skin... but when that little child was sitting at that meeting with the doctors and having to make such grown up adult decisions... I mean about having or not having children and not getting taller and so on and so forth... that child is too young for that kind of thought. And if he waits until adulthood to take the testosterone, and he doesn't take the hormone blockers while he's young, he'll go through female puberty, and end up having to spend thousands of dollars on surgeries to have his breasts removed and so forth. It's better while hes young, because he can stop the development of a female body.

As much as I like this documentary, please be careful of the pronouns. Those are completely wrong. "She" doesn't take testosterone, HE does! Holy crap.
