I am! How did you guess? I did remember it takes a fair size square of strong paper for the best results. Call me sad but I've always felt that the whole operation has a mystique to it, especially that wrap-around fold evoking some kind of spiritual and iconic status for me. Glad I can still see life through a young child's eyes. All the best to you!
Thank you so much! I remember in the early '50s this boat and the instructions were featured in a 'Rupert Bear' magazine/annual. I have been frustrated for years trying to recall how to make it, my stumbling block being the 'move' at 3:17 on your video. Once reminded of this I can do the sequence from memory again. Profound improvement to my psyche!
@sorscha so when my boyfriend came home we tried making it again and sat there for a good 30 min trying to figure out how to do it! Must have been sheer luck for me the first time....still haven't figured it out. giving it another shot today.
somehow by the end it was completely backwards so I couldnt unfold it. any ideas?
@giggles0313 it might be that you forgot to flip it over to the "smooth" side towards the end when it's a square before folding the two edges to the middle. I used to make that mistake a lot. Have a look at 3.15 on the video - you need to do the next two folds on the side that has no split in it, if that makes sense. Let me know if it's at a different spot and we'll have another go!
Vert dificult....

This boat floats very well on condition to ballast it with a pebble.

does it float?

Yes :)
You can even put a little sail up, if you want, by pulling out one end of the boat.
