  • Bad this tecnic take to much time! I will never be able to use this to draw ellips during physic test. Moreover this is not accurate.

  • Isn't the music a portuguese folk song from Madeira Island? Bailinho da Madeira?

  • super mate!!

  • thanks for the instructions. my oval looks really good :)

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE EXPLANATION.

  • for people like me, who can't control their compass, this method is perfect! :p thanks :)

  • That's why trammels were made.

  • cheers

  • Gaelica for ever¡¡¡

  • how name the music

  • how name the music

  • @MultiBicicleta This is a portuguese folk music from Madeira Island. Bailinho da Madeira.

  • how do i find the ellipse focal points?

  • Engineering rox, thanks, I need this for my analytic geometry studies

  • the most interesing subject at my school is engineering drawing

those chemistry shit i dont understand nothing

    physic my 2nd favourite subject

  • Smart method... thanks for uploading

  • This method works fine, but peeps are better off learning to do a freehand ellipse. Start by drawing ellipses freehand, then check them by drawing the minor axis. If the ellipse can fold back onto itself over the axis, then you're making progress. From there draw the minor axis first, try to draw an ellipse around the axis, it's much harder to do.

After that draw two converging lines, and draw ellipses touching tangent to those lines. Finally, build cubes and draw ellipses inside each box.

  • i've one prob

there is another way the school want's me to do it

and i realy want that way

    it's very complicated

it's like we have to use the triangle and alot of tolz

    it take a long time

    but i realy like this

  • amazing, whats that song???

  • thanks mate :) took me time to draw the ellipse but the method is very simple to remember and use

  • @MrVader153 Thanks!!! The idea it's to show something different and simple.

    Hope it helped you

    Cheers!

  • piece of shit

  • there's a simpler way, with a perfect result using a compass and a ruler.. this sucks. sorry

  • @A2Jamal It's interesting, this is a simple method but I don't denied that there are simpler methods.

Anyway thanks for your comment and I would love to know about the ruler and the compass method.

    Cheers!

  • @ervega i took the ruler and compass method in my latest drawing lecture but i cant remember it so i googled it and got ur video :/

  • ervega, ALL I WANT TO TELL YOU IS THANK YOU!!! GREAT JOB,GOOD MUSIC

PLEASE GO AHEAD AND POST MORE

  • @erickalisa Thanks a lot for that comment!!!! I'll try to find more simple methods and post it in here, but once again, Thanks so much!!!

  • Brilliant, just what I needed and urgently.... worked a treat. Thanks

  • @rattyjetta Thanks for the comment! It's great that I could help you, cheers!

  • The best of this video es the music..congratulations!!

  • thats a nice compass, lol nice method reli helped me cheers~

  • I'm really glad it helped! cheers!

  • Thanks so much!!!! Cheers!

  • cheers man :D , Graphics exam tomora :(

  • i like that way of doing it so much better than the way my teacher taught us...it takes so much longer her way

  • Thanks for the comment man!

I'm glad that this video helped you.

    Cheers!

  • It's called the trammel method.

  • I didn't knew that!, thanks for the info!

    Cheers!

  • Brilliant

  • That...was well done. Is there a name for this method?

  • Actually I don't know, but where I learned we called the Paper Method (Metodo del Papelito). Thanks for the comment!

  • Thanks for posting. Saw this on metacafe, too.

  • i can do that without using all dat

  • What is the title of your background song?

  • It's called " IbericaLatina " by a Venezuelan band called Gaelica.

    Cheers!

  • Really amazing.. :) Thank you for help.. this video totaly on my favs list :) thank you once more.. it really helped :)

  • Hey!

That's really nice to read!, I'm really glad that could help you with the problem that you had!

    Cheers from Venezuela!

  • For those who think computers are the only needed tools for drawing these days, think again. If you need a quick presentation drawing, it's still important to know how to use pencil and paper. This technique is simple and effective. Very good video man, saludos de Brasil.

  • Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, I totally agree with you, today we think that we can resolve any problem by computer, but if we don't understand the basis of the problem we are solving, we can have a bad answer by the PC that we accept.

Muito obrigado realmente aprecio o seu comentário!

    Saudações da Venezuela!

  • hey dumbshit its called an ellipse and thats pretty good

  • moron, this guy put time and effort in to showing other people how to draw an ellipse without a computer. which i need for my maths test.

    props to you ervega:D

  • Thanks a lot for the support!

  • no problem man you deserve it

  • You need to work on your English now.

    "maths"

  • math test is correct?, Allrighty then, i will remember that.

Thanks for pointing it out, Grammar nazis ftw:P

  • thanks helped me revise 4 my graphics test ^^

  • So glad to hear that!

  • Yours is the only technique that I have found that allows someone to accurately draw a circle in space that is pivoted. You don't even need the compass if you use a ruler. This is really going to help me with the rare non-computer rendering that I do. Thank you for the video.

  • Hey thanks so much for that comment!

I hope that really help you.

  • Buen vídeo, justo estaba averiguando de eso y me encontré este vídeo sobre elipse, Gracias.

  • In this case was arbitrary, Till this point I was just setting up the mayor and minor axis of the ellipse.

As you may see that depends on how big or how wide you want your elipse to be...

    Cheers!

  • I thouht this was to draw an elipses you know those 3 little dots like "..."

  • That takes too long! With the compass you could have done it much faster and better -no free hand at the end- You only need four arcs to do it... How long did that take? like 20 minutes?

  • how could I draw an ellipse with a compass?

it´s not like draw arcs of circles!

    I´ve got curious!

  • Oh! then I would love to see that!, could you do a video?

    Thanks!

  • thx :) now i have the idea on how to draw an ellipse.. nice background music.

  • cool.

  • Hola ervega...
