Congratulations on a demo vid that ran just like the simulation! I understand that some Accucrafts can be set up for radio controls for the throttle and reverser, lending additional realism to operation (especially if the cylinder purge cocks, if equipped, can be rigged to open only at the extreme throws of the reverser, as with full-size steam).
@bcschmerker My K-28 is now radio controlled with one channel operating the throttle, a second channel operationg the Johnson Bar (reverser), a third channel to operate the whistle and a fourth channel to turn the headlight on and off. I have a similar setup on my K-27 and my Roundhouse Billy.
Oh what a beautiful engine. I saw one on ebay a few weeks ago and I'm still kicking myself for passing it up. Well, yours looks fantastic, and a nice train to go with it. Nice job with the layout.
email me off line and I will steer you to a K-28 at a good price. I know of 2 new ones for sale. I don't know of a K-27 new or used for sale. They sold out several years ago.
hey can you by any chance make a video of how you prepare it to run like starting the fire and building pressure and show us your RC system you use for it? That would be very helpful as i would like to know before i buy...:D thanks
I can make such a video and will start work on it soon. I can do it in my shop with the locomotive on rollers so the lighting and sound will be good. Thanks for the idea. I will email you when it's posted.
Buying live steam locomotives on Ebay is risky business. You dont know "where its been". A minimum precaution would be a testrun before money changes hands.
