  • where can I get a Blue ray or DVD of all these Trans Sessions AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • @greg2gotravel The TS series are all on DVD, however, only in the UK market (PAL-TV mode, Region 2). They are not available in the North American market (yet) but can be purchased online from European distributors. A region-free, PAL-compatible DVD player is needed to view them in the USA. Or a properly-equipped PC.

  • @greg2gotravel The Transatlantic Sessions DVD series does use PAL format. However, it is actually encoded region-free (Region 0). Many players in North America are capable of playing both PAL and NTSC discs. I'm from the land of NTSC formatting and Region 1 encoding; both my DVD players, while not being region-free players, still can play these PAL Transatlantic Sessions DVDs. I ordered my DVDs in this series from both Amazon and also Amazon UK (where released sooner).

  • @PopHorizonScanner I have 3 DVD decks, and only the oldest one is able to read PAL DVDs (it was hacked via 'secret engineer's code'). The other 2 more recent players will play Region 0, but if it's PAL video mode, they give error msgs and eject the discs. It's a hit-n-miss situation with American players. Depends on how the firmware is programmed. The best thing to do is research various brands & models online before buying one to play non-NTSC discs.

  • Ahhhh...real music like this by dedicated master musicians such as these makes me cry. A wonderful gift for the rest of us.

  • Great to see the wonderful Danny Thompson involved in these sessions. What a time old John Martyn would have had amongst these world-class musicians. Sadly missed.

  • awesome !!

  • F Yaah.. I Fleckin love this to Dearth.. thank ye

  • That's not a traditional tune. That's Bela's composition and is on the latest Flecktones album. It's wonderful!

  • @derfeus Thnx for the info. I've amended the description for the sake of accuracy and credit to the composer.

  • Pretty sure it's not Bela's tune. You can find Felani on Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni ba's album I Speak Fula released in 2009. Worth checking out :)

  • AWESOME.
