Awesome how Stephen Lang has played one of the most cowardly villains ever (Ike) and one of the most badass villains ever (Quaritch). It doesn't even look like him in this film, but when he speaks lower at 0:24, you can hear his voice.
I loved this movie when I was a young teen. I got older and became more cynical. I still think its a great movie but highly over dramatic. In some places it's just plain corny. Kevin Costner's version is even worse but historically more accurate. I think if anyone tried to make a true and accurate portrayal of the Earps I think it would just be boring. Life is boring with a few moments of joy, terror, happiness and sadness. Still, as a movie, its good.
@mariomanningfan the historical inaccuracies of Tombstone have to be the worst of any movie. Kilmer's potrayal of Doc was briliant but i think he got it wrong. Historically, Holliday was a hot head. I mean explosively hot and not very composed like in the movie. The theory that he may have started the famed gunfight is no too far from the mark. I think Virgil or Morgan didn't really want him there at all. They knew he was capable of making the situation worse, and he did.
ALthough this scene was "Hollywooded" (and wooded hard) this did happen. Wyatt Earp claimed Doc Holiday saved his life when he was surrounded when trying to take a man in, by providing a flank, thus not surrounding Wyatt. This avoided the shootout, not some crazy shotgunners running in to turn it into a silly modern day mexican standoff.

"and you, music-lover, you're next."
I love that line.
A cultured Doc is playing Chopin on a piano while that cowboy is requesting "Campdown races".

Historical inaccuracies aside, note Doc: when he pulls, he spins both guns IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS.

@mindeloman agreed. I think Kilmer saved the whole movie from being as bad as the costner version.
