  • That was a Jofa VM. Not much of a helmet to crack.

  • mcsorely lands more punches and messier makes a helmet crack.......awesome

  • holy shit, Messier Punched so hard, it split his helmet open O_O

  • messier is a pussy

  • messier was a very big cheap shot artist but at least he fought once in a while. It was usually not against tough guys (and when it was he would always conveniently "fall" to the ice to end the fight very early) but at least he answered the bell once in a while (as someone like him should do).

  • The Moose was one of the toughest guys to ever play the game.

Most enforcers in the league had the good sense not to fuck with him.

  • Haha look at Mcsorley's cracked helmet. The Moose was the man. Born and bred Alberta Boy.

  • ok champ end of conversation muppet keep figure skating one day you might wana try a contact sport

  • Broke the jofa :(

  • id knock messier the fuck clean out one punch if i could skate lol

  • @whiteasasheet kind of doubt that even if you could skate.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi id knock him clean out hes a old man who cant hit for shit

  • @whiteasasheet no you wouldn't. You are a loser behind a computer who can not even skate number one and number two probably would shit his pants if Moose came at you let alone hit you and knocked you the fuck out.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi shut the fuck up clown iv trained for too many years in the fight game for some old chump who is a ice skate fighter beat me id smash him ti pieces simple never mind keyboard fighter chump.

  • @whiteasasheet lmao. I doubt you have. You are all talk. Just trolling at this point.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi what ever muppet get yorself down a real gym never mind ice skating youd get hit once or twice and youd run straight back to ice skating

  • @whiteasasheet what ever you say there tough guy. You do not know me so do not assume you do. You are the one talking shit like you are some hard ass haha clearly you are not.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi watch cyborg vs manaheof fall a real fight top fight on the net

  • Messier is a dirty, dirty player. He's so overrated, without Gretzky he's nothing.

  • @VOLUNTAS1000 yup

    messier blow

  • @VOLUNTAS1000 He won two cups with out Gretzky. Gretzky won nothing without Messier. You may want to resverse that statement. Both are great, but saying he's nothing when he is in the Hall Of Fame and Lead TWO teams to the Cup finals and Won with both teams says a hell of alot. Gordie Howe was just as dirty yet he is considered a legend as well.

  • @VOLUNTAS1000 Messier won 2 cups without Gretzky, Gretzky won 0 cups without Messier. After Gretzky was traded to LA, every Oiler's point production went down except Messier, he actually had his most productive season without Gretzky, why? cus when Gretzky's was there, Messier was on the 2nd line, after the trade, he went to the first line, got more ice time, better linemates, got the best year of his career. I'm not saying Messier was better than Gretzky, just proving your comment is false.

  • fuck that! messier is a piece of shit! GO LINDEN!!!!!!

  • gotta respect messier, looks like he broke mcsorelys helmet..

  • @blackreagan75 Messier held on for dear life. He never got a punch off and you say he broke McSorelys helmet??? At 4 seconds McSorley lands sqaure on the side of Messier's head. Never ceases to amaze me how people can watch video and mkae ridiculous statements.

  • Messier was a BULL! Gretzky's always been my favourite player, but Messier is truly THE greatest leader of all time.

  • messier is a fucking piece of shit like his girlfriend gretzky

  • nice helmet McBallsack

  • Messier is 7th for all time scoring, 2nd in points.

  • MESSIER IS A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyone who chirps him is an idiot. Can you say second leading scorer of all time?????

We would have won Nagano 1998 if he was playing haha

  • oh god. I could have scored as much playing w/ Gretz, Kurri, Anderson, Coffey.

  • @BradyMVP66 Check your facts dude...Gretz left in 88, Coffee in 87, Kurri in 91. Mark had his best year in 1990 WITHOUT Gretz or Coffee! Also, remember Gretz never won a cup without Mess, but Mess won 2 without Gretz.

Messier is a God aka The Messiah!

  • @volkrays99 I know when he left. I didnt say he was a bad player, I just think he was overrated. Mess isnt in the top 10 of all time players

  • @BradyMVP66 Glen Sather once said, "A pylon could get 40 goals playing with Gretzky". I bet you wouldn't even get 20.

  • @Din0might7 wow a personal attack on someone you dont even know. How do you know how good I am? You are such a bad ass on Youtube. Just because I dont like Mess you have to tough talk? I can guarantee I went further than you. Sather said that but I bet your mom said "I wished I would have swallowed" one more than one occasion douch bag

  • @BradyMVP66 I must have hit it pretty close to the mark for you to flag me for spam like that. Messier=Hall of fame. BradyMVP66?=sore loser. I can't believe that some people think they can compair themselves to Messier.

  • @Din0might7 I didnt flag your comment. I think it was actually pretty funny. I never compared myself to Mess, I know that I couldnt carry his jock on the ice. Just cuz I dont like the way he plays doesnt mean I dont recognize that he is a Hof'er. I just feel he was overrated. He was a clutch player, and a def Hof"er I dont feel he was top 10 all time no matter how many points he had

  • @BradyMVP66 You thought my comment was pretty funny? .....So did I. Maybe you're not such a sore loser after all. You don't have to like them all I guess. Those of us that love hockey will respect the best that played, even if we don't like them. By the way, carrying Messier's jock is not the party people seem to think it is.

  • @Din0might7 If something is clever and has some substance then I think its funny. To break out an old school qoute from Sather, takes a little creativity. I am a Lemieux fan, so I pretty much thinkeveryone sucked from that era compared to him ;)

  • @tagger38 All McSorley does is two hand people in the head

  • @tagger38 Mark Messier would slap you around like a *tch and leave you in a puddle of urine. Every player in NHL history respects Messier for his grit and toughness. Hoe many shifts in the NHL have you skated?

  • @tagger38

A fight's a fight. Messier knew how to win 'em. Same goes for every good fighter. Laraque, one of the best, usually waits for the opponent to agress, and then lays in when he sees an opening (usually the first punch leaves the thrower a bit of balance). Call it cheap, but he won more than he lost.

  • Messier one of the dirtiest players ever in NHL.... he makes me sick.

  • I remember this. It was a play-off series and right after this McSorley spent the rest of this series ducking Dave Brown. The Oilers went on to win this series and the Stanley cup later on. And Dave Brown did eventually give Marty a little tune -up right at the end of their final game.

  • Yah Mark Messier a true captain pfff heres a guy whose second biggest fight is against jason the giant blake... Messier is a great player but a bush league pussy cheap shot artist

  • suck my dick you fucking homo messier isnt cheap hes tough as nails id like to see you fihgt mark messier

  • @hero0fwar I'd like to see you fight Marty McSorley.

  • Mark Messier a true Captain. Does not need other teammates to fight for him like most of the other superstars does.

  • @falmark187 There are/were a lot of superstars who can fight when they chose to, it's just that usually, you'd rather that guy be on the ice instead of in the box for 5 min. Examples: Joe Thornton, Mario Lemieux, Eric Lindros, Vincent Lecavalier, Zdeno Chara, Brendan Shanahan, Mark Messier, Can Neely, Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard and there are tons more, that's just off the top of my head.

  • @gymguy25 Lemieux? sorry not trying to troll but he was a puss imo always seemed injured dont get me wrong he was a fantastic playmaker who could put it in the net and PK man but not a great glove dropper

  • @falmark187 the content of what you said matches the way you said it.

  • @falmark187 yes a true captain! by getting smacked !

  • @falmark187 yeah because he just grabbed and held on. No punches thrown....ever.

  • @kda5 bcuz its not like the only thing mcsorley is good at is fighting

  • Mark did a good job of absorbing there.

  • mess was a stud....

  • The Punch That meter? Classic!

  • @pounanni3100 punch stat* <--- its written on the screen

  • @gotupandleft Thanks tips.... that comment is so old i'd even forgotten about that account. 2 years people watched this video and didn't mention anything but now that you caught it, I have learned the error of my ways and can feel better knowing that someone took the time out of their busy day to show me how to read!

  • dont forget for the other 4 cups... messier had the best player of all time as the captain...so to say that stevie Y has more cups as a captian is true....but a very weak comment

  • Messier= definition of captain.

  • hate em both

  • hate em both

  • hate em both

  • What part of Vancouver R u from??

    :p

  • hate em both

  • Yzerman was good but the main reason why the Wings were so good is because the owner took advantage of no salary cap and spent ridiculous amounts of money. The Red Wings buy championships. Messier was a way bigger difference maker in the locker room than any other player. He lead two teams to Stanley Cups. Don't get my wrong I like Yzerman but I think the Red Owner's pocket book gave him a helping hand.

  • Comment removed

  • how many cups for messier?six i think, you were saying that yseman had more rings than that???where have you been?and i am a big détroit fan but don't say stupid things like that!

  • I apologize, I was unclear. I meant that Yzerman has won more cups as captain of the team. Messier was captain for only two of his cups and was on a different team for each.

  • they were two great hockey player,Yzerman along with joe sakic and PROBY(for other reason!)were my role model!in a way, why proby?because i realy think he was the thoughest of all time by any mean...never forget that he was a good hockey player too.he had regular shift and he fought everebody for a long périod of time and never back down from anyone event at the leatest stage of his career and i have a lot of respect for that...

  • Yeah I forgot about Sakic. He's another great leader. And everyone always labels Probert as a straight up "enforcer" although few remember that he was also actually a solid power forward that could put the puck in the net as well.

  • warriors

  • -----Find me a greater leader than Steve Yzerman. ------

Lemieux! Two Stanley Cups with barely a supporting cast, with the exception of Jagr.

  • I would say Yzerman is a better one then Lemieux, however, Lemieux is a far better leader then those other stiffs mentioned below.

To say that Messier is the greatest leader of all time because of ONE game is just dumb as all hell.

  • Messier broke McSorley's helmet!

  • messier as in the 70s playoff broke someones back from philly, hes a good checker the greatone if it wasnt for messier he wud not have been so great

  • i miss messier's running snapshot

  • i miss messiers 2 min. elbowing penalty every game!

  • lol...

  • Didn't McSorley beat the snot out of Messier later, like in 1997?

  • messier was a very poor fighter. he never won one single fight. he most likely elbowed mcsorley like he would in every game he played.

  • ya but the guy is the greatest leader in all sports all time

  • no he's not! you only say that because that's what you hear. he never won the King Clancy award for leadership! he led the rangers to the golf course 5 out of the 10 yrs he played in n.y. and 3 times out of 3 yrs as a canuck! he was great when he was surrounded by oiler players! he never missed the playoffs as an oiler! hmmmmm

  • ya he led them in 1990 without gretzky , something gretz never did on his own

His days as a canuck were clearly near the end of his career

Not many guys can gaureentee a game 7 win and then post a hat trick

If you have better examples lets hear them

  • many teams won the cup without gretzky. the devils won three without gretzky. thats how great a team the oilers were. mess never led any team anywhere. the oilers did the winning. if you keep a group of guys together long enough there gonna play great together. great teams make great players - great players don't make great teams. game 7 prediction? how old are you? messier never made the GAME 6 prediction. it was a made up story by the n.y. post to hype up the series and hockey in n.y.

  • do you think gretz would've won the cup in edmonton if it was messier that left in 1989? i do! one player had nothing to do with the 1990 cup. it was won by a dynasty TEAM! messier won the cup in N.Y. with 7 of his oiler teamates by his side. when those players left messier he missed the playoffs 7 times. he was not a great leader. you were told he was a great leader by the n.y. media! he was a selfish player that hung around 10 years to long just to put up personal numbers!

  • I'll drink to this one.

  • by the way you tool, the king clancy award is not really recognized as leadership on the ice...it is part of it but they mostly award it to people who are good examples OFF the ice...hence why Adam Graves won the award in 93-94. You really think he was better "leader" than Mess on that team? You don't know much about hockey do ya?

  • adam was as good a leader as mess that's why they were both chucked by the rangers. they kept leading them to the golf course year after year. if mess cared about n.y. he would've retired 7 yrs earlier. his skills went faster than his hair!

  • Why is this discussion only about Gretzky and Messier.

Find me a greater leader than Steve Yzerman.

  • Second that Yzerman is the best leader by far

  • do people go to a hokey match for the fights or for the actual match??? just wondering

  • little bit of both. haha.

  • Messier is out of his league, here.

  • I didnt even realize after the fights over mccarty's helmet is split open

  • Punch Stat !!??? LOOOOOL

  • TO EpicImports

McSorley was indeed a tough guy who always bring it every gamenight. But jwhat he did to Brashear was totally over the line. And for you to call Brashear a nigger is totally over the line. You are an absolute disgrace to the human race. You belong to the same hell as Hitler. RACIST BASTARD!!! RACIST BITCH!!!! RACIST RETARD!!!! RACIST COWARD!!!! BITCH!!!

  • Yawn.

  • the punch stat meter hahhaha

  • you gotta be on something man,,, he's a fringe player who should have been in the AHL if he didn't have Gretzky how looked our for him, like kind hearts do a homeless mutt. he was a coward with Brashear and was a coward to cheap shot Gilmour in 93 and scrap with Clark at the end of his shift.

Brashear vs McSorley in their prime.

    Brashear wins hand down.

    McSorley was no Dave Sememko...

  • To: EpicImports

YOU ARE A RACIST BASTARD!!!! YOU ARE NOT EVEN FIT FOR SWINE, RACIST BASTARD!!! GO TO HELL!!!

  • Yawn.

  • Show's what a dick mcsorley is...taking on Messier..someone who was part of mcsorley's gravy train all the years with the oilers..Mess and Gretz...having mcsorley out of the nhl is a good thing...

  • I'd rather have Mcsorley on my team than Brashear. Fewer problems (Living in Vancouver)

  • aronron2727: you can't even make any nice comments about a true legend like Mark Messier. Where do you work you little bitch? Wal-Mart? I bet you clean the toilets of that stupid gay ass store eh MOTHER FUCKER?

  • Messier is an over rated jerk. He had a 3 year holiday in Vancouver and messed up the whole team. And I know more about this guy than 99.5% of them who post here. NO I will not say what. Wish they'd let Marty finish him

  • wtff? stfuu you ass!

  • Well this is true my dear friend.

Messier, a guy playing tough, and so mean.

  • ok first of all, ew do not call me your dear friend!

    and stfu about messier!

    you obv. have no life!

  • Look whos talking, Messier has 6 Stanley Cup rings and tons of money. What do you have? A Wal-Mart ring that says "Loser" on it? Fuck you asswipe!

  • PaulCoffee7

    Please shut up you idiot.

  • You again ?

I told you to shut up, racist guy. Too much Don Cherry I think hmmh ?

  • baaahaaaa walmart loser ring haha thats a great line haha

  • your argument makes no sense and is stupid you said he only goes after short or chicken players but McSorley is a very big guy and one of the most legendary tough guys of the game

  • hahaha his helmet was cracked i wonder if that would even protect your head if a puck hit it

  • why dont they have the punch stat meter today thatd be sweet lol Boogaard 50 - Stortini 2

  • They need to bring back the "Punch-O-Meter" that thing is badass.

  • wow, hard to believe those gretzky style helmets were legal in the nhl, thing cracked right in half on mcsorley

  • D´OH! messier it´s not a fighter boy!!!

  • mcsorley is an idiot, messier made his career, then again its hockey, where occasionally even brothers fight.

  • McSorley is without a doubt one of the all-time NHL dumbshits. Of course there is the Brashear incident he was involved in being the goon he is. It is often forgot that he had the illegal stick in 1993 Finals, Game 2--the Habs had his stick checked with under two minutes left in regulation. His stick was illegal, two minute penalty. Habs tie the game, and win it in OT. Search "McSorley 1993" and watch for yourself.

  • MNWildfan72 - I remember the '93 finals and that the illegal stick, i was a habs fan back then. kings beat the leafs in the semi-finals that year, to bad, could have been a leafs/habs final. john leclair was great in the cup run for the habs, also some guy named patrick roy.

  • That would have been a great Final. Roy was something else for sure. Seems like yesterday, that series. Hard to believe it was nearly 15 years ago!

  • A punch stat meter? Thats awesome! Why don't they still do that?

  • weird i thought they were friends

  • why'd they fight thats werid

  • That was a cheap-ass Jofa helmet (most commonly known as the "Gretzky helmet". It broke by itself.

  • Messier was a bulldog, and a great player--amazing he was able to play until he was, what, 44? 45? McSorley, on the other hand, met an inglorious end.

  • Mccsorely is just too damn big and strong for Messier! Messier only fought when he needed to. She shouldn't have fought McCsorley! What was he thinking. He's got the heart to fight McCsorely, no boubt about that. Messier's a Hall of Famer. I will say that either, he or Gordie Howe were the most complete players, EVER!

  • nice to see messigay gettin owned

  • That game between the Kings and Oilers had over 300 minutes in penalties. It was an amazing game. I was at the game and I always wanted to get a video of the game..

  • for someone that likes to throw elbows messier can't scrap

  • McSorley, my hero

  • They fought again at least once (McSorley on the Sharks ~1997), Marty gave him another beatdown.

  • messier broke his helmet! ripped it apart.

  • what the hell? i never knew these guys went at each other... mcsorley even broke his helmet! or messier did.

  • sosososo fite. give messier sume props

  • messier cant fight

  • Dead wrong. Mess' can fight. He is no midget at 6-1 and 210. He didn't fight that much, but he could go. Having sad this, I am not a big fan of the 'Moose'
