  • @2689175 Newcastl uper tyne

  • I remember this song from my childhood, what a funny bugger, Whatever the hell happened to Bob.

  • @101TheMetal No, it's Paul Hogan.

  • even though I'm living in Perth, my heart is still in Newey..it's been 30 years now since I lived there, but am lucky to go back every so often to visit family. Love this song, love the 70s aussie music scene, loved going out in Newcastle in the late 70s early 80s, what an absolutely great time to be a part of the Newcastle scene.

  • Ahh newcastle the place to be

  • i live in new york city ...but Newcastle was my hometown. Ah, Nobbys Beach, the Jolly Roger .... best beaches on the coast.

  • Although I live in Qld I am proud to be a Novocastrian. Luv the place. I actually heard this song on the Ipswich radio the other day

  • are you not anywhere..... I'm thinking I'll suggest one to you and you are the one I'm suggesting....

  • Brilliant, great to see a live version with the extra bits. Thanks for posting!

  • real good oldie song brings back memories

  • FCCOOL , i tottally agree. i spent all my later teenage years crusing the foreshore and king street maca's lol.. was the best time ever..

  • love this - but i want the song he did called "after my cat left home" if you have it and can put it up here then please do so, cheers!!

  • thanks so much for sharing ... loved Bob

  • Newcastle Australia is the best place on earth, you havent lived till you cruised hunter st in your old holden or hung out on the foreshore with your mates, the beaches in england are shit, they have shit coarse sand and usually have crap waves and miserable weather. there is no comparison

  • @FCCOOL you got that right!

  • @FCCOOL Is it culture-free, surrounded by bush fires, populated by racists, with the nearest other country the distance of the moon away?

    .

    .

Or is it different from other parts of Australia?

  • @oneovertheoddsthatis

Its definately not culture free mate, you must be thinking of Sydney wich is were i live now, sydney is like a wealthy stressed out 3rd world community were everyone is flat out trying to make money to survive. Newcastle is about fun in the sun on the beach, backyard party's, cold beer and bbq's with your mates.

  • @oneovertheoddsthatis Just the way we like it toooo.............But these pesky bloody refugee boats still manage to find us and it seems bloody Muslims are trying to take over the place courtesy of the politically correct hand wringing Pooftas running the show...............:o)

  • @FCCOOL here here!

    i love living here!

  • @Amulte I have been living in sydney for 8 years but ive put in notice at work and am currently looking for a house back in newey, cant wait to get back!

  • ha bet its cold and raining there and no beach..Newcastle australia what a place

  • as a proud novacastrian, i absolutely love this song... thanx for posting the clip...

  • wow what a great clip of my dad!

  • Cool....I often play this classic in our little FM radio station here in our lttle town here in the Sth Is. N.Z.

  • Nice one - since you have the album, could you also post his JL Budgerigar track for me, or the lyrics? Thanks

  • JL Budgerigar was my favourite, followed by this one.

  • bloody hell, where did you find that?nice gem.

  • A true Aussie classic. Thanks for posting.

First heard this many years ago on Radio Windy in Wellington and I had searched for a recording of ths for some years and managed to get hold of a single of it and was deeply disappointed when all the crude bits had been roughly edited out totally destroying it. Windy played the full version off the album which I found some years later.
