Nobody likes Kattie Melua more than I do, but it is insane to say that she sings this song better than Bobbie Gentry. NOBODY signs this song better than Bobbie Gentry. Bobbie is amazing, and it is such a shame that she stopped singing all those years ago. Bobbie and Katie... my two favorite singers. Love them both.

I love that people are annoyed enough that you're right about the violinist looking like Peter Beardsley to give you some virtual thumbs downs... aside from that this is beyond amazing. Terry Wogan was bang on... cutting edge.

I love the Jazzy feel she adds to this song, at one point in this video i actually got chills. And she did make this song her own, she doesnt sound liek anyone else, she's not copying anyone elses style. She did good.

An old Reba McEntire Song. Sometimes I think some of these cover songs should stay in the closet. I would much prefer she dump all her cover songs and stick to her own material. Some of the cover songs are actually pretty good. I just like her stuff better.
