The honest truth of what happened to this film was this: Sam Raimi wrote a treatment with just Sandman and Goblin II, but the studio asked Sam to put Venom into the movie, but Sam refused, but the studio forced him and Sam did it to shut them up and made Vemon look bad to get back at the studio and hated the storyline he was forced to use. Sam Raimi already had a storyline that really worked, but the studio forced him to re-write it with what they wanted. It's the studios fault, not Sam Raimi.

I don't blame Sam Raimi for fucking up Spider-man 3. It was the executives who pressured him into doing the whole symbiote/Venom storyline. Eddie Brock was a whining little pussy and Venom was no better. You could tell it was written into the story at the last minute. What ruined the entire film for me was making Sandman uncle Ben's killer. What a crock of shit.

Spiderman 3 sucked because Sam was pressured to listen to the fans (even then, it still looked/sounded great, and the fight scenes were well done). Drag Me To Hell was an incredible horror film, the first one that's genuinley scared me in years.

SPIDER-MAN 3 would have been better if there weren't three villians. When you put three villians in a film like Spider-Man the story keeps jumping back and forth from each character's plot line. Since there's alot of background to each villian this makes it difficult to fit all the KEY ELEMENTS of each character into the film. For a better purpose the script for this film should have been Trashed.

Well Im not claiming to be an expert, but I just didnt get the sinister quality in venom at all that I got from doc oc and green goblin.

By "better treatment" do you mean he was more fleshed out? that might be the case but I dont think it really matters if you fail at creating a frightening enough villain. Especially with venom who's supposed to be Spiderman's arch nemesis and might have recurring roles.

Actually contrary to popular belief(amongst the general public anyway) Green Goblin is Spider-Man's arch nemisis, not Venom. And I really doubt there gonna bring Venom back. Not just because its a tad bit hard in bringing back someone back to life from dust, but I want to see other classic villains.

i totally agree with you, and just because spider-man has been done in comics it wouldnt make the movie a lot more easier because there are so many and u have to choose what to put in the movies to make it good and make it make sense and still try to stick to the story line of spider-man. i think he did very well.
