ok this is kinda strang but like danger mouse was like total 80's n i wasnt born till 95 but i like total love it ever i need a life or i should of been born it the 80's the 80's rock.. love it =P
Dude, it's not weird to love something from a time before yours. I love 80's nostalgia, but I wasn't born till '92. I'm also a 90's nostalgia freak, but that's a different story :P
oh my goodness!!! I loved this cartoon! I also used to watch "banana man" and of course, I loved to watch "you can't do that on television", "Pinwheel", and all the "Special Delivery" episodes. Man, what happened to Nickelodean???
i was a strange kid i got the whole british humor thing so i loved dangermouse and got every joke. thanks for bringing back great memories! oh crumbs!!!!
Did it deal with age regression often, or was this the only occurrence?
And I also noticed Greenback as an infant at the end, and then the bird lackey was an egg. Did this by chance have any part in your idea for "We Ride the Skies"?
Hi Boltro! Nice to hear from you- Responses are limited on here though so I'll get strait down to it. No, in this show age regression was not a common feature. The show's origins are obviously British and in the nineties, I had scarcely heard of it either before I got ahold of the video file, now I love it- Despite the AR scarcity. It's a very entertaining program, funny, original, and charming. As you can imagine it has been inspiration for a fan-story on my part, never posted or completed.
To continue from my last comment, (blast this character limit) Stelleto and Greenback... Yeah that is rather suspiciously similar isn't it? But the circumstances and definately the character relationships are massively, massively incongruent- I actually hadn't made the connection until you pointed it out. This situation is meant to be humorous- WRTS has a wildly different scenario, but it's funny isn't it, how similar the two situations look graphically?
No, sir, I'm afraid I mean 'age regression' it's a term meaning reversion of an organism to an earlier point in its development- And that's what happens in the episode, well, to some of the characters anyway. Its a theme that appears in cartoons often.
This show is old and nostolgic for many people so I guess it is sort of a reversion to childhood for a short 10 minutes of a day for those who grew up with it. Congratulations as well, you, Jon, are the one hundredth commenter on this video!
Back when Nickelodeon had class, it used to show a great assortment of foreign animation, like DangerMouse, Count Duckula and Japanese interpretations of classic Euro fairy tales.
you didnt remember danger mouse being british, its full of englishness. the red post box the general the london skyscape hey i thought kids were observent, you must have been a bit special
God damn it's retro night. I am a damn kid again. This show was fantastic. Crazy ass Brits, bless you. Great cartoon and the DJ/Producer ain't bad either. Caw! This and You Can't Do That on Television = my thing
With due deference to the Goons, without whom the absurd could not have been the best representation of reality, Danger Mouse ranks with Monty Python in that genre ... does a far better job at poking fun than James Bond.
I doubt that most people see what a spoof Bond is, but it is all out in the open with DM and, as with Lewis Carrol's "Alice", operates at every level from child to adult.
I had no idea Danger Mouse originated in England. This cartoon was also air on Nickelodeon in the United States back in the early 90s. It was a cool show.
Danger Mouse was actually an 80s program, very early 80s. You might have seen it in syndication. But another possibility is that you might be thinking of "Count Ducula," made by the same company that sometimes crossed characters. That was an early 90s program.
Now to have some fun with this (also fun) video: At the start, the Colonel's name tag appears to be "Colonel. K."; at the end, it has changed to "Colonel`K". I wonder if this was intentionally part of the time adjustment or a mistake. How does it look in other episodes?
I think that Danger Mouse is great. I understand that a DVD boxset has recently come out that has all the Danger Mouse cartoons in existence on which I hope will be used to put all Danger Mouse episodes on youtube which would be awesome! I think they should make more episodes of Danger Mouse as it would be very popular today, the death of Terry Scott, the voice of Penfold could easily be reproduced by someone else.
"An old cartoon I got from a Public Domain somewhere.

Silly Penfold was called Lübke in Germany, after some old chancellor there, who wasn't all that bright...
I know DM is serious about a case, what with all the "Penfold, SHUSH"ing, but Penfold does have a point- maybe Baron Greenback DID go flat on the radar.
